Tron Review ~ The effects are great, the script, not so much

What is up with Hollywood these days and poor scripts. Anyway, you already know that Tron has some really good effects, and overall, the story is not to bad.

If you haven't see the 1982 Tron, then you may want to see it first just to compare the effects. For 1982, the Old Tron effects where quite good, but look hella cheesy today. But it makes for a good laugh.

Basiclly the story is that Sam's Dad gets stuck in the Tron virtual world because a clone he made, Clue, turned agonist him, and thus he got locked inside because the portal out open stills open for so long and can only be open from outside.

So years later, Sam discovers the Tron computer, and accidently teleports himself inside. From here, he must find his Dad, and find a way back out in time. The story doesn't really have any real twists from here. It's your classic movie story that wraps up with a happy ending.

The CGI is all pretty nice and cool, but there are no mind blowing effects. The only effect that really was pretty cool is when he gets teleported into Tron. Sometimes it was hard to tell what was going on because of the camera angel, but otherwise the camera work was good.

Overall, its a pretty entertaing movie, but I expected more. It gets Three Out Of Five Stars

*** out of *****
