Today, we're going to take a loot at the featured games that Nintendo has on their website for the 3DS.
Kid Icarus: Uprising ~ If there is one game that stole the Nintendo 3DS show at E3, it was this title. Not only bringing back a series long forgotten in time, it will also be one of the first games to push the 3D limits. Kid Lcarus is being created by Project Sora, which is a fairly new game developer, but has helped out on the Super Smash Bros series.
Kid Icarus Uprising features both air ground fighting as well as air born gameplay. Think of Star Fox Assault, but better. Nintendo has described the game as “a fast-paced and action-packed blend of aerial and ground-based shooting built on elegantly intuitive and streamlined play control. Boasting game play that is easy to pick up but incredibly deep, the game is sure to satisfy novice gamers as well as fans who have been clamoring for a new installment in the franchise.” Kid Icarus looks like to be a great platformer as well as a shooting game.
It will be great to see Icarus battle it with Medusa and other baddies when it hits the Nintendo 3DS early in its life time.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 3D ~ For those play-stations fans, this one should please. Athough this is a reboot of a PS2 game, producer Hideo Kojima said that he would developed some new stuff for the Nintendo DS3 version. The details on what content would be added are still unkowen.
Hideo also stated that the demo showen at E3 was just a sample of what could be done, and not a representative of the final product. So the game is clearly just not a direct port. It will be interesting to see what contend makes it into the final cut. For those of you who haven't had a chance to play this game, you'll be in for a cinematic videogame treat that you soon won't forget.
Nintendogs + Cats ~ This game will be a sequel to the old Nintendo DS Nintendogs. Not only will it include cats, for those cat lovers out there, but the game will make use of the Nintendo 3DS's cameras for facial recognition technology to interact with the pets. For example, if you put your face up close, the dog may do the same. Or if some else steals your 3DS and tries to play with your dog, your dog may run away.
But other then the 3D tech as well, I think we can expect the same. This is the type of game for those pet lovers and people who have time to waste or just for those who parent's don't like real pets.
Can you say AWWWWWW |
Animal Crossing: Not to much to say about this one, but it will be updated version where you play the mayor of the town. As the mayor you got to make sure your town is happy, because what else are you going to do?
A lot of people at E3 have talked about the 3D effects on this one, saying that it adding a cool depth effect when playing. It will be interesting to see all the new features they input into this one.
And that pretty much wraps up this preview. I talked about Resident Evil Revelations in a other blog post, so I won't talk about that. And all the other titles on the plate are still pretty early in the dev department and don't have to many details out about them.
But the Nintnedo 3DS's library is looking to be shaping up to be a great one.
