The Tourist Review ~ Depp and Angelina try, but the script doesn't hold out

Isn't it great to see a movie with Johnny Depp with no make up on his face. (Like in his many last films with Tim Burton) The Tourist tries to draw you in with its star power, who doesn't know Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. They both are able to pull off pretty good acting in this film. But while The Tourist does have star powers, it sinks a little bit with it's plot.

The movie begins with people watching Angelina Jolie's every move, when she receives a note that instructs her to board a train and find a man.

The note is from Angelina's wanted boyfriend, and he wants her to find someone to distract everyone off his trail. This is where Johnny Depp comes into play, and from there come misunderstandings and Johnny Depp being hunted by a mafia.

Angelina has a heart and didn't think her boyfriend would let it go as far as it did, so she decides to help him. From here begins a confusing relationship which I didn't really fell the chemistry. Johnny Depp (or Frank as his character is called) fells in love pretty fast. In fact, I don't even know if the two characters in the film have much in common.

Aside from this "Love at First site" flaw, there are also some plot holes in the story itself. I don't want to spoil the ending, but something happens that is never explained. And Johnny Depp likes to appear and find places he wants to go very easily.

The plot also has a bit of a slow start. But besides that, there are a few good chase scene's and the ending did keep you in suspense. The cinematographic was done well, and the music is your average film score. Overall, if you don't mind the plot holes, the rushed relationship, or a slow start, then you might be able to enjoy Depp and Angelina's performance together.

***** Stars out of Five.

Warning Depp Fans, there are a few scenes where Depp is adorable.

Warning Angelina Fans, there are a few scenes where she does look hot. Her hair is always pretty much perfect.
