Space Vampire VS Zombie Dinosaurs In 3D review

Man, isn't that title a mouth full. Well that's what we can expect from the humorcore metal band, Psychostick. Their third album takes them to another level.

Now to describe Psychostick, their like comedy metal. Their heavy, but the lyrics and skits in the album put a smile on your face and will make you laugh out loud. Let's put it this way, their a band who doesn't take themselves to serious, but they do it really well.

The album goes from spoofing a concert, talking about boobs (which will make you feel a little perverted, but oh well), to getting really pissed, meeting a Political bum, dealing with a clingy girlfriend and going to the dentist. Its one of those albums where you can listen to the whole thing from start to finish. Sometimes when I listen to this album, I wish that Psychostick was either a tv show or a musical, like dethklok.

The guitar riffs and the breakdowns in this album will melt your socks. Its some of the best comedy metal you will ever hear. Psychostick knows how to mix the metal we know and love with great laughs and just plain silliness. Highly recommend.

Conan The Barbarian Review ~ Its loud, gory and fun, despite its story

Oh Conan The Barbarian, the name of the movie brings back memoires to the old movies of 1982. Sure it was cheesy, but it was epic.

So with this 2011 remake, that is what we get. Cheesy 3D effects and gore action like battles which are pretty cool. But we also get a plot, that sometimes doesn't make sense at times and pretty predictable characters.

Even the acting in this film will make you laugh, there are a few scenes where its pretty bad its just funny. Otherwise, its allright during the rest of the film.

Conan The Barbarian has a few cool creative fight scenes, which I would recommend seeing if your into that kind of stuff. Otherwise, the plot is pretty predictable and stuff you have seen before. Basiclly Conan goes out to seek revenge, and he runs into a witch and there are epic battles.

So overall, its not the worst movie I've seen, but its not super good either. Which is a shame, cause the source materiel is pretty awesome.

The Death of the HP Tablet

When I heard that Hp was killing off its Tablet, I thought it was a bomb and gotten horrible reviews by critics. But after looking into it, I found that the HP tablet had gotten some pretty good reviews and had some great possibilities for the future. But nope, HP, has called it quits. Just after two days.

What really brothers me is that did HP expect the tablet war to be easy? It may have taken a few months of hard work and money to promote the HP tablet, but there could have been a chance to make it succeed. But no, HP has decide to pull out of the tablet and phone business, along with making computers, and focusing on whats easy. Printers and software.

This is bad, as now Apple will continue to lead the tablet war, which means they will be in control without any other tablets forcing them to innovate. There is Android, but nothing else has been consider a threat to the ipad.

HP has lost a lot of respect, and maybe they should go back and read the HP way. If they keep following the attitude they are doing right now, well, it may be the end of (what once was) a great company.

Spy Kids: All The Time in the world 4D ~ What a mess

Spy Kids was a great series, up until now. Spy Kids in 4D is a mess, and just plain stupid. So frist off, the film is in 3D, and you get this scratch and sniff card which you use during the movie to recreate smells that are happening on screen. Not only does this distract you from the film itself, more then half the smells are pretty gross.

So besides from that, you've got a plot, that is a lot like the first spy kids. Expect all the charm and fun is taken out. Sure, the first spy kids was campy, but this takes it to a whole new level. They also have thrown in a talking robotic dog, and a baby, which just adds to the noise.

If your taking your kids to this, be prepared as there is nothing offered for adults. (Like the first few Spy Kids films had). The villain makes way to many puns, the dialoge is horrible, and it has super campy fights. So if thats what you want, then go for it.

I would only recommend this film for those who want to watch shiny color effects and mindless action. The effects are better then earlier spy kids films, but it seems like series is only trying to milk itself into the ground. Tis a shame.

Fright Night Review ~ Vampires can be cool

It's sad to say that twilight made vampires uncool for a while, but thanks to the remake of the cult classic Fright Night, I can say vampires still have some badassness to them. Fright Night does what the orignal did, but adds some more gore, style and effects into the mix making a awesome thriller.

The acting is quite good to, with great performances by Colin and David. The film is a mix of a comedy, thriller, and a horror film all wrapped up in a neatly tied package. Plus you got some awesome gore effects to that even die hard Saw films would be pleased with.

Another thing I really like about this film is the camera work, Fright Night does a good job with setting up tension. For example, in one scene, you see a body being dragged out slowly of view, so you know the vampire is there, but you can't see him. Its clichés like this, that make for one hell of a trip.

If your a fan of the orignal, or just like Vampire killing stories in general. You gotta check out Fright Night.

No Ipad 3 until 2012

For those of you with a Ipad one, you may cry, and for those of you with a ipad two, you may relax. By the looks of things it looks like the ipad 3 will not be until 2012. After all, Steve Jobs said it was the year of the Ipad 2. Plus if you look at Apple has to release this fall, it doenes't make sense to release the Ipad 3 this fall. The Iphone 5 has to be updated first, and most likely that will be what Apple wants everyone to pay attention to for the Holiday season. Along with new ipods, there isn't a lot of room to market the Ipad in the same time. There is also the Mac Pro. although not as popular, it still needs a update. So Ipad fans, looks like its back to the waiting blocks.

Iphone 5 Delayed till October.

As the fall comes closer, the rumors about Apple's plan for the fall get crazy and crazier. New rumors sugguest that Apple will be having its Media event in September to focus on the ipods, and then launch the Iphone 5 in October. If they will announce it at the media event is unknown. But it does make sense that they would want launch it sperate to increase sales. Also remember that fall is anytime between September 21 and December 21. So IOS 5 can come out as early or late as they want.

The Help Review ~ A Drama that will make you cry

The Help, based on the best selling book, is a drama film that takes place in the 1940's and is back when black people used to be maids for the rich white people. Until Eugenia comes home for college and bulids a friendship with Minny and Aibileen.

Then they decide to understake a secret writing project which puts them in danger because of the radical change that was going on in that time period

The Help is a film that has a lot of talking, and some more talking, and then a scene that will make you cry a little on the inside. Then there is the conflict with breaking social rules scene. You get the point. It does it's job well and pulls you emotional in. But if drama isn't your thing, you should stay away, since The Help is also a long 2 hours and 20 mins long.

One of the highlights of the help is Octavia and Viola's performance together. The acting is great and pretty much carries the film. The camera work is also pretty good in some scenes, but most of the time just focuses on the characters with close ups.

Overall, if racial and drama that takes place in the 1940's is your thing, check out the Help.

Final Destination 5 Review ~ Surpassing good

After the awkward fourth Final Destination (or THE Final Destination) number five sets things back on track by going back to Final Destination's roots while keeping it modern and fresh. Granted, its got the gory and death scenes that will the series is knowen for as well taken to a new level.

One of the coolest scenes is in the beginning when the bridge falls down, just because its so over the top and intense. The plot is pretty much the same, kids trying to escape from death. But this time, there is a new twist which works out rather well for the film. Which is if you kill someone you get their life. So the question is, are the characters willing to kill someone innocent so they can live? It works out well and makes for a pretty cool climax.

The kill scenes are over the top and gore tastic. Reminds me a little bit of Saw, so if your into that stuff, you won't be disappointed. Although the chance of any of these deaths happening in real life is pretty much next to zero percent.

The acting is Final Destination is pretty forgettable, its pretty much the same as the other films. Just looking scared, and then they die.

Overall, if your a fan of Final Destination, then you will enjoy number 5. As its a great step up from the pervious film. Now, I wonder what the hell Final Destination Six and Seven will be like.

Must see movies of Fall 2011

So its that time when school starts back up, the leaves turn Orange, and that annoying summer heat finally goes away. But while all this is happening, there are some movies you gotta check out this season at the theaters.

Shark Night 3D ~ All right, so lets just forget about any movie passing Jaws in terms of greatness, but Shark Night looks like it will deliver some great horror and gore sea fun. Hot girls getting eaten by sharks, who can say no to that.

Apollo 18 ~ This film has been delayed, so hopefully the wait has been worth it. Apollo 18 is like a horror documentary film that takes place on the moon with some kind of creepy alien that attacks the crew. It sounds like a rehash of other horror films, but the trailer does make it look interesting. Hopefully Apollo 18 will make us never look at the moon the same way again.

Lion King 3D ~ You may call this Disney selling out to make some more money off a film that was made almost 20 years ago, but come on, its the Lion King, a true Disney classic. Plus its not like you'll get another chance to see it on the big screen again. This film is interesting cause its 2D animation that is 3D, which is something that hasn't been done very often. So hopefully the 3D turns out somewhat decent. Anyway, if you love cartoons and want to celebrate getting Mac OSX Lion, then you gotta see this one.

Straw Dogs ~ This film looks interesting and will be one of the more weird films this Fall. Being a remake of the 1971 film, hopefully it does the original justice. Basic its about a couple that goes to live in a quiet village and the people living there turn out to be a little crazier then expected. its a mix of horror and thriller.

Abduction ~ Hey look, its that guy from Twilight. But no seriously, abduction looks like its going to be a pretty intense action thriller. Staring the werewolf from twilight, he must discover his past and figure out why these guys in suits are chasing him. Overall, it looks like it will be one wild ride. Just look at the poster.

Moneyball ~ Where would fall movies be without your sports damera flick. Based on a true story, MoneyBall is about a baseball team that is facing a finical crisis. With Bard Pitt and Jonah Hill, this film should be a great one.

Footlose ~ A remake of the musical classic, well sure. I guess if your into classic musical tunes, dancing and rebelling with dancing and rock music, then this is a film for you.

Paranormal Activity 3 ~ Oh yes, even Paranormal Activity is doing what horror movies do best, sequels. Or should I say Prequel, cause that is what it looks like from the trailer. Which could work cause they both talk about their past and being stalked by the demon in the pervious two films. Anyway, Paranormal Activity is sure to scare the little girls and provide a good ride for horror fans. (BTW, no official poster has been released yet)

The Three Musketeers ~ Although there has been more Musketeer movies then you can point a stick at, the 2011 film looks like it will be the most action packed one yet. With hot gothic girls fighting and the Three musketeers blowing stuff up in 3D, how can you go wrong.

Johnny English Reborn ~ Oh Johnny English, a spoof of the James Bond genre looks like it will be getting another run. Hard to tell if this one will be good or not, but it should provide at least a few laughs.

And there you go, the top choices of falls that will be landing in September and October. Looks like we have a mix of everything, from horror to action to damra and even a freaking musical. So take a break from school and work, and go enjoy some great movies this fall.

Cavalera Conspiracy Blunt Force Trauma Mini Metal Review

Max and Iggor have finally put out another record for Cavalera Conspiracy, called Blunt Force Trauma. There are no doctors here, just burtal and intense Groove metal. This album is more burtal and intense then Inflikted, blasting you with simple heavy riffs and banging drums.

It's a bit of a return to Sepultura, but it draws more from Max's project Soulfly and Nailbomb. In fact, if you mixed a playlist of all three bands, you may not even be able to notice the difference.

However, Blunt Force Trauma is still a great record, beating and tossing you around for the entire length of the album. Songs like Target and Genghis Khan have that watch out, shit's going down feel to them. While Rasputin and Thrasher have a little more melody to them. Overall, if your a fan of Max Cavalera or just some awesome groove metal in general, you gotta check this one out.

Apple kills MobileMe to make room for Icloud

Well it looks like MobileMe is finally being killed off to make room for Apple's new Icloud service. You will be able to transfer your mail, contacts and calendar dates from MobileMe to Icloud (you know, the important stuff) but the Gallery, Idisk and Iweb are being killed off in the next year.

Current users will be given a 20GB bonus to use with their icloud for a year, giving you a total of 25GB for online storage. Which isn't to bad. But it is sad to see MobileMe go, and the death of iweb.

Cradle of Filth ~ Venus Aversa Mini metal Review

Oh no, look out, its Cradle of Filth. The Metal band that everyone loves to hate or love. Now, if you already hate Cradle of Filth, Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa won't change your mind much, but for fans of the band this may be their best record yet. A great one to check out if your new to the band to.

Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa goes back to Cradles early roots, sounding a little bit like a more polished squeal to Curtly and the Beast. It has that gothic castle haunting sound to it, but is the most burtal and heaviest album Cradle of Filth has put out. Making for one hell of a ride.

The vocalist of this band may put you off at frist, but give it some time, as I find that after a few listens it really matchs the sound, and there is no other vocalist like Dani. If you ever wondered what a demon sounded like, well look no further. I will say though, that his voice is not as crazy as it was on older albums though.

There are some times when the symphonies take front and center, which isn't a bad thing. But when the guitar is there, its really good. harlot on the pedestal is one headbanging good song, while Farther Forgive me I have sinned has a little more melody to it, and Beyond the 11th hour is a great epic symphonic metal conclusion to this epic record. Granted, it is a bit long and sticks within the same sound, but if gothic symphonic metal is your thing, you can't go wrong.

Itunes 11 to receive overhaul in newest release

Itunes has been around for a very long time, and its lifetime, it has pretty much looked the same. With its grey and blue color scheme. The same sidebar on the left, and so forth. While it was ahead of its time back in the early 2000's, ten years later, it might be time for a change.

As many people know, Apple never keeps things the same for long, so many are betting that itunes 11 may be getting built up from the ground up with a new facelift.

Don't forget, that the icloud is coming this fall, so Apple is going to have to somehow put that feature in the new itunes 11, so that is something we can expect.

Itunes 11 may finally allow the ability to tag more then one genre tags and artists tags to songs. A improved Ping, taking notes from both G+ and facebook. Hopefully more options just in genreal, like to only play the audio for music videos in playlists and color change options. But if the wishlist gets to big, there is no way Apple can do it all.

Remember that old icon with the CD and green or blue music note? Seems like a long time ago huh.

MAC OSX Lion Review ~ The Lion Roars a mixed bag

Mac OSX Lion, it looked like it was going to be the best OS X yet,  with lots of new freatures. Since Snow Leopard was pretty behind the scenes, but did it deliver. Well, its a mixed bag. Well is what I liked and didn't like about Apple's lasted Cat.

Mac OSX Lion Pros:

Mission Control ~ Although Apple kinda merged Spaces and expose together, they did it rather well. Its pretty easy to use the full screen Apps (which right now only contest of Apple's own apps, plus a few others) and have multiple desktops open at once. The Dashboard now has its own screen, so it no appears over your windows and desktop. Overall, a cool Lion feature.

Full Screen Apps ~ Now the Apps can take up the whole screen, leaving you and the app just to work together. I find that it works great with Iphoto and ical when you need the extra space. Plus full screen Photobooth is fun to.

The Log in Screen ~ Has been updated with a cleaner and nicer look.

Mac OSX Lion Cons:

LaunchPad ~ Granted, the idea of mixing IOS and Mac OS sounded like a bad idea, and it kinda was. The Launch Pad is like organizing apps on your iphone, but brought to the desktop. But I find it kinda useless as the dock and Application folder on the dock work so much better, and its not like your opening apps that often that you need a LaunchPad for them.

The Bugs ~ It has been known that OS launch'es have always been kinda buggy in their frist release, but I think Lion is the worst out of them all. The worst bug I have is when I try to play a youtube video and the entire screen freezes, like, I thought that wasn't suppose to happen on your OS Apple.

Resume ~ This feature sounded pretty cool on paper, but now that I have seen it in action I can say that is more trouble then its worth. The problem is that you often keep a app open if your working on it, and close it when you want a clean stale. Take preview for example, I open a PDF to look it and close the app. Next time I open a new PDF file, the one I was reading earlier appears, so now you have to close the windows themselves when you want a fresh start.

The New Finder ~ When you open the finder for the frist time, you get this new thing called All my files, but I have found it doesn't work all that well and its pretty useless, since I know where all my files are located. Also, the user library folder has been hidden, and you now need a keyboard shortcut to access it. Plus the icons on the finder sidebar are now all gray, just like itunes. Overall, the new changes to finder are not up my ally.

So far, it seems like I don't really like Apples new OS Lion, but that might change over time if the bugs get fixed and some of the Resume options are made easier to access and control. But for $30 bucks, its super affordable and easy to download. So if you want to be on board the lasted OS, I would recommend getting it. But if you can wait, I would wait till the .1 or .2 release.

Iphone 5 Predictions ~ 5 things that may come to the Iphone

The Iphone 5 seems to be everyone's mind, and since its the frist iphone not to be released at WWDC, many people are wondering what Apple has up their sleeve. Well its time to put on our future hats and see if we can predict what the Iphone 5 will be like. This is most likey going to be a good update after the disappointing Iphone 4.

1. 64 GB iPhone coming ~ With the Ipad and Ipod Touch already at 64 GB's, its only expected that the newest iphone will have its storage bumped up, since last year they kept it at 32GB. If its one thing Apple knows, it's that people want more space, and I'm sure Iphone 5 will provide, for the cost of course.

2. 8 megapixal camera ~ Of course, we can expect the camera on the back to be greatly improved as well. Some rumors expect there to be a double flash, which would be cool. But considering that the camera feature in IOS 5 was improved, you can expect the camera will be that much better as well. Plus we can expect the front camera to maybe be in HD for Facetime, but this is a maybe as I know that would be hard on data rates.

3. New form factor ~ With the problems of the athena with the Iphone 4, Apple is going to change the form factor just a little bit. I highy doubt they will make it thinner, cause its already pretty thin, but maybe they will make it curved. Also expect the screen to be a little bigger, as Apple is going to want you to enjoy your media on there. Hopefully edge to edge screen will be on the iphone 5.

4. 4G speeds/LTD ~ If the Iphone wants to stay current with its Android brothers, then it will have to have 4G speeds. If it doesn't, that will be a whole other year stuck with 3G speeds, and with so many Android phones jumping on board already, I don't see Apple waiting on this.  But then its Apple we're talking about here.

5. A Navigation System ~ With IOS 5 coming along with the iphone, there has always been one thing missing from the Iphone, and that is GPS turn by turn directions as your drive. Like Android phones have had since Droid one. Although not as big as a issue, it would be nice if it was included.

Anyway, the Iphone Five is sure to rock our worlds. Not only does IOS 5 look like its going to be the best IOS yet, but I'm sure the new hardware will be pretty boss as well. One should start saving your money now.

AleStorm Back Though Time Mini Metal Review

What do you get when you combine folk metal, pirates and epicness? You get AleStorm's Back Thorough Time. Alestorm's third album, and maybe most epic record to date.

The pirate elements are still here, so you can get our your pirate drinks and rock back and forth to a few songs like Scarping the barrel again (where they joke about themsleves) or Rum. Of course, they are epic pirate battle songs like Shipwrecked, and Battle of the Terrorsquid, which is one of my favorites. Have you ever heard a terrorsquid scream? Then get this album.

Alestorm doesn't do anything new or crazy here, but they do what they do best, and this is their most polished record. The folk metal elements are really strong on this album, so if you like pirates, or metal, you should go drink some rum and listen to some Alestorm.

The Change Up Review ~ We've seen this before

The Change Up is, a decent comedy, its got some funny parts, some not funny parts and its plot is something we have all seen before. It's not horrible  but its not really good. Its alright.

The main problem is that The Change Up sticks to the cliches of the body switching genre, with some profanity and sex jokes thrown in. So, nothing new or exciting here. The plot is pretty predictable and kinda dull, with its lazy gross out humor. You'll see the ending before the 2nd act starts. In fact, watching this film will make Freaky Friday look really amazing.

The actors do a pretty good job of playing each other, though the characters don't have to much depth. You have the guy who is single man who is the king of the jungle, and then the married guy who is having trouble with his wife and kids.

Granted, they did save some funny jokes in the movie that where not in the trailer, but that does not save the Change up from being a boring body switching movie. If your willing to sit though the dull moments to find the funny parts, then go ahead, but otherwise, forget it.

Rise of the Planet of the apes Review ~ A epic prequel

If you have seen The Planet of the Apes, then you know where this movie is heading to from the start, but the trip there is still fun, and then ending of this film is worth the wait.

The story is about a cure to help humans is tested on a Ape to make sure its stable. Of course, they do this behind the companies back, and notice that it increases intelligence. As the ape gets smarter, it only cause's problems as he is treated like a slave, which finally forces him to break out and spared the cure to his fellow breed.

The second act of the film is a little shaky, with a few odd scenes that don't quite fit right. But the third act is awesome, its kinda like a videogame jungle apocalypse scene, and its well worth getting though that second act.

The Apes looks pretty cool, I'm guessing that most of the time they are CGI, but with these large budget movies that is never a problem. The acting is really good as well, putting together a all around great film.

Overall, if your a fan of the Planet of the Apes, then you gotta check this one out.

Father Nature Ramblings

I have to admit, this has been one of the most challenging projects I have ever worked on. Mainly because so many things have gotten in the way of making it. The frist shoot day, one of our actors was a hour late so we where waiting around and it was quiet. But then as soon as he showed up, a band in a near by park started to play music.

Then the next date we where filming a dawn shoot, and our actress thought we where shooting at 5:30 pm instead of AM, so that was a wasted day.

And on the date after that, we got a douche parking ranger in our face and he stole our signs. Like we had these signs taped to the posts and even though he gave us a half hour to film, he took them down and stole. Like, what the hell. Anyway, I find it funny that parking rangers are always kinda douchey, they never seem nice or caring. Their always like, sorry, my park, my rules.

But even with all that, I think we'll pull though. I mean, if that can't stop us, I don't think anything can right?

Winnie the Pooh Review ~ A sweet 60 minutes of Childhood

It is great to see a hand drawn two d film in a age of 3D animation and live action. Winnie the Pooh is a short 65 minute film, but its so worth it.

Those who grow up with Winnie the Pooh in the 90's, or had kids who watched the series, then you should already know what to expect. Cuteness, charm and humor that only Winnie the Pooh can deliver.

There are some songs as well, (remember those days) and some cool animated scene's where the style changes. Overall, the animation is great, and I couldn't ask for anything more. Its not often we get to see a 2D cartoon on the big screen.

The voice acting is pretty good to, they all sound just like they did back in the 90's. The plot is cute and enjoyable, for kids and adults. Overall, if you want to get in touch with your inner child, or just feel like watching something cute, Winnie the Pooh is up your alley.

Harry Potter And the Deathly Hollows Part Two Review ~ A Worthy End

I have to hand it to the Harry Potter series, 8 movies, and their all pretty damn good. It finally ends with the conclusion to the Deathly Hollows, and it goes out with a bang. If you thought there was to much talking and not enough action in part one, well, here is your reward.

Castles burn, dragons shoot fire, stone statues come to life and there is the final battle between Harry and Voldemort. The special effects are top notch and its some pretty awesome wizard battle action. Of course there is the dramatic sandess, darkness and some apocalyptic sences here to. Thus it loses some of the humor and charm that the earlier movies had, but it makes up for it.

Harry Potter part 1 and 2 will be interesting to watch back to back, but I think they will fit together nicely. As for the plot of the movie, I won't spoil it for those who don't know the books. Its the epic showdown that we have all been waiting for so many years, and yet its bittersweet. One of the best book movie franchises come to a end.

Solsikk Mini Metal Review ~ Female Groove Metal?

When you think of Female Metal, you usually think about Gothic or Symphonic metal, but with Solsikk, a new band from London, they mix Groove Metal with some interesting vocals from Vykki. Its like Soul vocals meet metal. It may sound a little weird, but it def helps this band stick out from other female metal artists.

The self titled debut album is one to own, while only a short ten tracks, there is no filler and is great from start to finish. The album kicks off heavy, but then in the middle of a album you have a epic ballad, then the album finishes it heavy again.

The guitar work is also great, and great for those of the groove metal fandom. Its the kind of the riffs that are catchy, yet are still heavy and make you feel like banging your head.

Right now, not many people know of the band, so go check them out or buy their album on itunes. I recommend this for the cool mix of Metal meets Soul. Plus its the only female groove metal out there as of now. Think if 80's Avril Lavigne went metal.

Coming Back

Super 8 Review ~ A retro summer hit

Super 8 is a interesting movie cause it stands out from the super hero films, animated films and comedies this summer. Its a bit of a retro summer movie as it centers around small town america with young kids making a film with a Super 8 camera trying to figure out what was on a train that crashed.

Super 8 is a mix of adventure, mystery and fun. Its not a horror/thirller like Cloverfield was, so if that is what your expecting, go someplace else. Super 8 follows the style of The Goonies with its young cast.

The script is pretty solid, and the story of Super 8 will keep you engage throughout the whole film. If you have seen the trailer, you should have a idea of what kind of ride your in for.

It felt like Super 8 was retrying to capture that old magic of Spielbergs classic films, and while some moments do have their charm, Super 8 feels like it copies elements to many times for it to be totally original. Despite this, Super 8 is still a great film on its own, and a great trip to the movies this summer if your looking for something, say a little different from the norm of whats out right now.

iCloud, Mac OSX Lion and IOS 5 steal the spotlight at WWDC

Well today was a fairly predictable day at WWDC, apple talked about what it said it was going to talk about and nothing more. So those expecting a Iphone 5, a new macbook air or a iwork 11, well, today was not that day.

WWDC was all about the iCloud, the new update to OSX Lion and the update to the moblie OS, iOS5. If you where following rumors at all, pretty much they where all hit on.

Mac OS X Lion is basiclly a update with a few cool features. The coolest of these features is resume, where you can quit a app, and when you open it back up it starts in the same place as you left it. Other features like auto save and expose seemed cool. The price point is only 30 bucks and the new OS will be out in July in the Mac App Store. So it seems if you don't have snow leopard you won't be able to skip to Lion.  It will be interesting to see how they deal with that situation.

iCloud is basically a push service for your devices. So when you buy some songs on your computer, they appear on your phone to. For those with non itunes stuff, you can pay 25 bucks to have itunes scan your library and match the songs with their itunes counterparts. Overall, it seems pretty cool. You can also sync your contacts, calendar and photos to. MoblieMe is dead and has been replaced.

And of course, IOS 5 was introduced. Main feature updates where a improved notification system (now it works kinda like the Android one), a do to list included in the calendar (kinda like tasks in gmail) and a speedy camera app. ISO 5 comes this fall (along with a new iphone I'm thinking)

Overall, WWDC was pretty chill. Mostly just some needed updates and no real shockers or new hardware which is kinda disappointing. Hopefully Apple has some real cool tricks this summer.

Exciting Week nears as WWDC and E3 hit

Next week will be a big week in terms of Tech News. Apple is hosting its world wide developers conference showcasing Lion OS and IOS 5, along with Apples take on the cloud service. People are also wondering what new Hardware Apple may dish out such as a new Iphone or a new Macbook Air. All in all, you can expect a few bombshells and some much heated debate over the new cloud service.

Also in big events, E3, the big video game event is also going down next week. Where the Wii 2 and some big games are expected to be announced. All in all, it looks pretty intense.

If your a videogame tech lover, then next week will be like Christmas for you.

X-Men First Class Review ~ Best X-Men Ever

The 5th movie seems to be the charm this year, (with Fast Five) now with the 5th X-Men movie really bringing its A-game to the big screen. If you where a fan of the earlier films, then you most likely enjoy this one to.

X-Men First Class is a little more plot driven and character driven then its past films, making for a really good script and story. Its not as action pack, but the story makes up for it. (Don't worry, theres still some cool action scenes) In case you don't already know, X-Men First Class explains how the X-men came to be, with Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr being allies before enemies.

All in all, its a great take on companionship, revenge and the choices one makes. The acting in the X-men is some of the best yet and overall makes the script really pop out. If your looking for a plot driven super hero movie this summer, X-men is your choice. Hopefully the spider man reboot will be just as good.

New Imacs Released, Now with Sandy Bridge

Apple yesterday secretly updated the Imac on their website. As expected, the Imac now uses Sandy Bridge Chips, has the new thunderbolt port and a isight HD camera. Nothing else really changed about the design, but these are some nice updates for those looking for more speed and performance. The whole line is now Quad Core, so you can't go wrong.

Amazon offers cheaper song pricing on popular songs

Looks like Amazon is trying to get you to buy music on their service. They just announce they will be offering popular songs for only 69 cents, compare to the 1.29 that Apple currently charges for the same song. If your into stuff like Lady Gaga, Justine Briber and Katey, then you may find this useful.

However those into the underground scene and like Apples higher res format will probably be sticking with itunes. It will be interesting to see if this move helps Amazons market share break into apples.

Prom Review ~ Its a little chiched and corny, but its cute

From the makers of High School Musical, Camp Rock and other great hits, Disney finally decided to make a Prom movie. Is it good? Well, that all depends if you liked Prom in high school.

Prom focuses on a bunch of kids who are either excited, or not excited for the upcoming high school prom. In fact, thats what all these kids seem to think about. They are thinking about who is going to ask them out, or how to ask some one out. You would think these kids only think about Prom and nothing else, which of course, no body in real life would be this crazy over Prom.

They put a lot of effort into it to asking each other out, which I don't remember kids from my high school doing that. But that is Disney for you, taking something like Prom and kinda turning it into some fairy tale type of thing.

The pairings, are well, a little chiched to say the least. But thats to be expected as Disney would never go the edgy route. The romance aspect is a little over the top, again due to Disney's "theres love for everyone route" but its not so bad.

What else can I say, its a heart warming, depressing, awkward Prom movie. I was never a fan of Prom, so I wasn't all that into it. But if Prom and watching couples (um, Disney couples) try to figure their way though Prom, then this may be a movie for you.

Fast Five Review ~ Kicking summer off right

How do you kick off the movie summer season? By having a epic car chase action movie thats how! Fast Five, even though it is the 5th movie in the Fast and the Furious series, is probably the best squeal to date.

Sure, is it over the top? Yes, but that is what makes it so much fun. Cars diving off cliffs, pulling a bank vault around, a fight between look a likes Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson, its funny that they take so seriously. But thats part of the fun. Its so over the top, yet still seems to make sense most of the time.

The script is pretty tight for being what it is, there are some cheesy lines, but it all fits in the plot of things. The main reason you go see this film is for the awesome car chases and action. it kinda rivals Sucker Punch on the action level, but Fast Five has a plot which backs it up.

The actors are all cool and play their lines well. But overall, if your looking for a over the top action movie with explosions, hot chicks, guns and that sort of stuff. This is the perfect film for you, and a great way to start off the movie summer season.

New Imacs coming out May 3rd?

Yes, it looks like it finally may be happening, but there is a strong rumor that the new refreshed imacs will be coming out on May 3rd, Tuesday of next week. There is reported storages online, as some people have received emails saying there is a delay of one week. Also, according to some Apple retail employees, they are setting up the stores next week to display the new imacs. The wait may finally be over. If your in the market for a imac, wait till next week!

Apple planning Retina Display Macs

A interesting finding was found in the developers version Mac OS Lion. The background image found on Mac OS lion is a super ultra res of 3200x2000 pixels. Also the icons are super res up,being stored as 1024x1024 instead of 512x512. This is higher then any Mac computer display has ever supported, so it may be pointing out that Apple has plans for retina displays in the future.

Basically, Retina means that everything will stay the same size, but it will pack in twice as many pixels, making images and icons looking sharp and more detailed. Text will be easier to read and it will be a bonus for those that edit photos on their Macs.

When will Apple release Retina displays, I doubt it will be this year or even the next as only the Iphone 4 currently has Retina display. I don't think they are ready to sell a 27 inch retina imac just yet. But I expect we will see Retina come to Ipad next year, and shortly after Macbooks will be getting it.

One thing you gotta love about Apple, they do have nice displays.

Iphone 5 to be redesigned this summer

In recent internet talk, AppleInsider has heard a rumor that Apple may be redesigned the Iphone 5 this summer. The Iphone Redesigned would have a screen that went to the edges of the screen, creating a bit bigger screen space, and a new bigger home button that would have touch swipe features.

Iphone 5 Mock Up
In addition, Apple will be introducing a 126 GB model, which would make those people wanting more space to hold their large itunes Liberians happy.  (Iphone and Itouch storage has been stuck at 64 gig max for some time).

The Iphone 5 will also be a little bit thinner then the iphone 4, and maybe will have a laptop effect where one side is thinner then the other.

Of course, there is always strong word that Apple is not doing a redesign this year. So take these rumors with a grain of slat. For putting in 4G would be a big thing that would get people to buy a Iphone just the way it looks now.  But it would be pretty cool to see the Iphone get another change in its design this year.

Tyler Perry's Medea's Big Happy Family Review ~ What can I say

After making a serious mature film, For Colored Girls, Tyler Perry has decided to return to what he loves most, cross dressing, slapstick, and all the crazy drama that the Madea series is known for.

I find it kinda funny that he has to put his name in the title, as the movie itself isn't a movie where I think you would want to have your name there, but Tyler Perry's a rich man, so I guess it doesn't matter.

Within the first ten minutes of Medea's Big Happy Family, a doctor is groped, Madea is handed a cancer death sentence and Mr. Brown threatens to beat up a women.  If your new to the Madea series, don't be surprised, the first two films where like that to.

Along with other drama, we have a teen who just got out of prison, a family trying to raise two disrespectful chriden. Point is, a lot of drama goes down in this film. Due to this, Medea feels like a episode series on TV at parts, switching from character to character. It kinda works in a way, but other times you kinda are getting into that character but the film switches to another character making you lose interest.

Due to Tyler Perry's stage experience, some parts of the film have that theater feel to them, and be prepared for the characters to be screaming at the top of their lungs for your attention.  Also, the film seems to push the idea that you can use violence to solve your problems, which I don't think really works in real life. But uh, to each their own.

All right, so in the end, I wouldn't recommend this film, unless your already a fan of Tyler Perry's Crossdressing, slapstick violence, or odd insane drama.

Macbook Airs to get released earlier then predicted

This is a interesting rumor I found, but according to Macrumors and Appleinsider, Apple is working on making a new Macbook Air for a release date of June. A bit earlier then previous rumors had thought the air would get updated this year.

The main parts of the update would be Thunderbolt, and intels new Sandy-bridge processors, as the ones in the current Macbook Air are getting a little old. So those hoping for a little more power to come with their Macbook Air will be pleased. You can also expect longer battery life, bigger storage options and all those little goodies to. As for a redesign, expect the Macbook Air to look pretty much the same.

If this is true, then Apple will have a busy summer. As the desktop line and current Macbook are due for some much needed refreshes as well.

Apple Computer Buying Guide 2011

It's pretty easy to predict when Apple updates their computers, based on past update cycles. But this year things have been a little crazy. You had the Sandy Bridge delay recall, and the earthquake in Japan making things even worse. So when should you buy those crazy Apple computers, here is a quick guide to help you out if your planning on making a purchase this summer.

Macbook ~ Its strange, but the Macbook hasn't been updated in quite a while (last May). Its strange because the Macbook is usually been updated pretty often in the past, and its one of Apple's best sellers. The internet has been pretty quiet about this one, but if your in the market for a Macbook, I would hold off. I would expect a update to happen in May or early summer. Is there a redesign? Possible, the last update was a quiet spec update, so it could happen. Apple may be waiting to update the Macbook with a redesign as to not pissed off the people who just got their Macbook pros.

Macbook Pro ~ If looking for a Macbook Pro, you should buy it now unless you can wait till the end of the year. But I'm guessing they will update it in October with a redesign to push for Holiday sales. Cause that is one of Apple's famous moves. So no summer updates here.

Macbook Air ~ I'm guessing that Apple will update the Macbook Air sometime in the late summer/fall time. The Macbook Air was updated last October at the Back to the Mac event. Apple may update the Pros and Airs at the same time with a redesign, or do one before the other. There is not to much word on what the Air will have next, it may just be better specs. A lot of people are expecting the Macbook Pro to go in the direction of the air however with all SDD and no Optical drive. If you can wait a few months, then I would recommand waiting for the new Macbook Air.

Imacs ~ yes, even the Imacs are due for a refresh. It will be interesting to see if they update the Macbook or Imac's first. Maybe people believe that the new Imac's are going to come out within the next two weeks with a basic spec bump like the Macbook Pro had. Others believe that Apple is waiting till the summer to do a redesign with Lion. But if your in the market for a Imac, I would highly recommend you wait. Sandy bridge will be worth it alone with a spec bump. Expect these Imacs to get updated soon, maybe along with some new Macbooks.

Mac Pro ~ You can't forget about Apple's professional machine the Mac Pro. The Mac Pro is due for a update, but recently Apple has been pushing the updates further apart. And I doubt they will update the Mac Pro before the Imac and Macbook. So if your in the market for a Mac Pro, you may be in for a long wait. But word is there will be a new redesign with a slimmer and smaller body, so there is something to keep you dreaming about.

Mac Mini ~ Yes, even the Mac Mini is due for some updates. Its quite weird that Apple's entire desktop line is pretty much due for a refresh, but maybe it will all play out this summer. The mac mini is often the red hair step child of the bunch, but still gets some love. I am expecting that the Mac Mini will just be getting a spec bump this year, with a tunder blot port added. Maybe the Mac Mini will be updated at the same time as the Imac, but once again, if your in the market, wait till the summer.

So, the lesson here is, if your in the market for a Mac Desktop, then you should wait, unless you just need your Apple Computer for checking email or something easy like that. As for the notebook side of things, the Macbook Pro and Macbook Air are pretty safe bets, but those waiting for the Macbook should put their plastic away.

Also remember that these are just predications, as Apple may decide to not update anything at all this year. But I highly doubt they will do that.

Water For Elephants Review ~ Its good, for those romance fans

Water For Elephants, based on the book of the same title, is a romance drama film set in a circus setting. One thing that I did like about Water for Elephants is that its not overloaded with CGI or special effects, but still uses its set and locations to create a cool environment and setting.

Water For Elephants stars Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson, who do fit the romance genre well and work as a couple. So the plot goes like this, Jacob gets a job at the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth caring for the circus animals. It is there, when he meets Marlena, a star of the circus show. But she is already married to August, who is the animal trainer. August is charismatic but also a little crazy at the same time.

And finally, there is Rosie, who is a untrainable elephant. Thoughout the film, Jacob and Marlena bond over taking care for the elephant, and there is drama caused in the mix by August. Overall, its a kinda predictable love story.

The script itself, is pretty good, but nothing mind blowing or anything like that. Overall, Water For Elephants is a pretty decant romance drama, it won't strike you hard, but its entertaining and has its cute moments. Of course, if romance drama isn't your thing, skip Water for Elephants and wait till Fast Five.
