Macbook Pro and Imac 2011 updates delayed?

Yes, sad news, but Intel has discovered a problem with its lasted chip set "The Cougar" which is part of Sandy Bridge. Intel has fixed found the problem and fixed it, now doing a recall which is costing them 700 million dollars.

The problem is if that Apple is planning to use these new chips in their updates, they are going to have to wait until they can get their hands on the new chips. This is only though if they had a February lunch date in mind. As now they are going to have to get the new chips, test them and mass produce them, which would set the updates for sometime in Late March/early April. If apple was going to lunch the computers then anyway, I guess it wouldn't make to much of a differences.

Maybe we should just wait for Ivy Bridge?

The Rite Review ~ Nothing new or noteworthy in the Exorcism Genre

Man, is it just me or is the whole Exorcism genre a bit overdone these days. The Last Exorcism was pretty bad last fall so I didn't have high hopes for The Rite, and while its not as bad as the The Last Exorcism, its nothing to good either.

If your going in expecting a horror movie which will scare you, you'll be disappointed. The movie is a somewhat mix of horror and suspense, but it can't pull either fairly well.

The Rite is about Michael, who goes to a priest school to escape from home. He doesn't really believe in the whole thing Devil thing so he decides to met up with Farther Lucas. Who works with Exorcisms a lot. Michael must decide if these demons are real or not as he experiences these exorcisms.

The plot of the Rite is a bit of a slow one. The movie takes a while before it gets going and it has a weird pace throughout the movie. I do give props for the twist, even with its anti cinematic ending.

The Exorcism scenes are what you expect, demonic voice, head twisting, bending back, but nothing really new or really crazy happens. Its hard to tell if the film was trying to take itself serious or trying to go into fiction at times. As it doesn't have enough suspenseful moments or horror like terror to be either.

Maybe we have seen to many exorcism movies over the year, but I think the genre just needs a break. Ever since the Exorcist, (the true classic) no film has been able to come close to the awesomeness of that movie.

Anthony Hopkins is the only reason to see this movie as he pulls off his role quite well. Colin's acting is all right, but I don't think the script did his character justice. Anyway, if your looking for a mild trip into the Exorcism world, then this movie may be up to your liking. But those expecting a true horror or supense masterpiece may want skip and revisit the Exorcist.

Apple Store and website get a glossy facelift

The apple store was down last night which appears to be for a new look for the Apple website. Now the top bar is a black glossy bar and there are some animations on the site. A few nice changes, but nothing totally awesome.

iwork 11, iweb 11, Final Cut Studio 4, where are all the software updates?

If you haven't noticed, its been a pretty disappointing past year for Mac software users. ilife came out with a new version updating iphoto, imovie and garage band,  but left iweb and iDVD out in the cold. The updates where not that impressive and people where upset about iweb not being updated. I guess we can understand iDVD, as Apple's direction has been pointing to online media as of yet, but what about iweb?

I mean really? If Apple wants us to use the internet for video and media then why was this not updated. Also seeing that iweb 09 still uses flash instead of tools for working with HTML 5, you think Steve Jobs would have updated this sooner. There are a lot of people now looking for alternatives to building their websites like Rapidweaver or webs.com.  But iweb had a simple way of doing things. It's to bad seeing it get left behind.

The that the new year and the big Mac app store has open, people where expecting iweb to lunch with a new iwork on Jan 6th,  but nope, nothing exciting happen. iwork is still 09, but you would expect something new coming soon since Microsoft just updated their work apps for this year.

So, will these updates (which are much needed) ever come? A new rumor has pointed to the Ipad 2 lunch. People expect that iwork 11 will work with both mac and ipad, so maybe apple is saving that update for then. And will iweb join this update, who knows?

Let's just hope these programs get updated soon within this year, cause they do not "work" like they should.

Big Four Comes to America, for one show only

Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax are coming to America to do just one show near LA in Southern California on April 23rd. For those who don't know, these are the four best Thrash metal bands from the 80's. They did a seven show tour across Europe together in 2008. Now after much demand, they are coming to do one show in the US.

But its weird that they are doing only one show, and its on the west coast. Good for those who live in Cali, but sucks for those on the East Coast. Europe got seven, so why can't the US? Plus aren't the bands from here?  It confuse's me, but for those who are able to afford the 100 dollar ticket price and are able to get down there, I'm sure it will be one hell of a show. Also very crazy, according to the Youtube video that is advertising the show, it's a seven hour concert with full sets from each band.

Wish I could go, but it's a little to expensive. Anyway, for those interested, you should be aware that tickets go on sale on Jan 28th, so get your wallets ready.

No Strings Attached Review ~ A decent comedy, nothing more

Well after surviving Black Swan, Natalie Portman is know in a comedy with Ashton Kutcher. Strangely, the couple kinda works.

No Strings Attached is about two friends who almost ruin everything when they have sex one morning. So they decide to keep Love out of the picture, in order to protect their friendship. Think of it as a open relationship kinda thing. But the ultimate question is, can you have sex without love getting in the way?

The whole concept of this film sounds like some hooker prostitute kind of thing. But the script of No Strings Attached holds up and is able to use some clever turns in situations along with some jokes that are pretty dirty, but funny. (think Hangover raunchy). But besides from a few jokes, the movie isn't all that dirty, I'm surprised it got the rated R rating.

Other times the script is a little to predicable and blend. The first two acts of the film hold up pretty well, but the last act, where one scene takes forever to end.

But overall, you have a decent comedy with some pretty good acting talent. Some jokes hit, some miss. If this is your type of movie, then I am sure you will like it, but otherwise, its a ok one to miss to.

Season of the Witch Review ~ Not as bad as everyone makes it out to be

I don't understand why this movie got all the hate that it did. Was it because of Nick Cage? Or maybe because it bash God a little bit? Whatever the reason, I was expecting this movie to be really bad of all the reviews and stuff I heard, but it turned out to be pretty decent.

It it a masterpiece? No, but what you will find is a entertaining action adventure that combines the medieval time piece with exorcism's and witchcraft pretty well.

The movie takes place during the medieval crusades, where the Church would kill anyone who didn't believe in God. It is a little intense, and the movie does diss God a little bit, but at least the film doesn't censor itself, which I like about it.

Season of the Witch does a pretty good job with its location, as it makes you feel like your in the medieval time period. The script isn't half bad, and the ending has a pretty good twist. I think the acting could have been a little better, but aside from that, its overall pretty good. My only compliant is that the witch does a pretty bad job of pretending to be normal. Thoughout the film, she has this evil smile at times where you just know.

If you don't take the film to serious, you will enjoy it. It is far better then that piece of crap Skyline for sure, so, yeah. Also, does anyone find it weird that Nick Cage is in two films this winter dealing with Hell?

Nintendo 3DS coming March 27th and costs 250

It's official, Nintendo has finally release the lunch details for the Nintendo 3DS. The Nintendo 3DS will be lunching on March 27th here in North America with a price tag of 250 bucks. Which isn't to bad, although remember the days of handhelds only cost like 100 dollars.

Anyway, if your looking into getting your hands on a 3DS at lunch time, you better preorder with Amazon or gamestop. You remember what happened with the wii, and there won't be to many 3DS's to go around. Nintendo said they will be doing their best to meet demand, but they can only make so much before lunch.

It will be interesting to see if the Nintendo 3DS is as successful as the wii. Considering that a lot of people are playing games on their ipads and phones now a days.

Why is mainstreamed metal flowed upon?

I mean really? It seem's like people love to bash mainsteam music these days. I mean, sure, a few mainsteam bands do sound like crap, but that doesn't mean all of them do. Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer are excellent bands that still hold up very well today. Even some songs from Ashlee Simpson where pretty good and catchy. Yeah, I know I just switch genres there, but you still get the point.

There are some bands that I prefer their more mainstream sound then their old sound, which just goes to show you that anything can be good, no matter how popular it is. I always hate it when people hate a band just because its the cool thing to do. (Look at Justin Beiber, but I would have to agree that he sucks, but I gave his music a chance).

You can't have mainstream without the underground and vice visa. They both can suck and they both can rock. It just depends on the music itself. So next time your friend or people rants on a album, check it out before dissing it to.

Is the end of Steve Jobs near?

Steve Jobs took another leave of absence a few days ago. But unlike the other two leave of absence's, Jobs did not mention a time of return. The internet is a buzz with rumors on what that could mean. I would hope it wouldn't be serious, but I doubt he would be taking a leave of absence if it wasn't.

In the mean time, Tim Cook will take over, and he has proven that he can keep Apple in good hands. Even if Steve Job's decides to step down later this year, Apple will not be going anywhere. The direction of apple may change, but I'm pretty sure Steve Job's would leave it in good hands if he left.

Due to Steve's departure, the apple stocks took a bit of a slide. It seems that people don't have faith in Apple if Steve Job's isn't there. Which I find strange, the 2011 roadmap is most likey already planned out and Steve mention in his note that he would still be putting input into big matters.

Besides from that, Steve Jobs is a very private person, so any details on his illness or health are hard to find out. If his cancer has return, well, the best of luck jobs.

Apple to merge Itunes and Safari into one

Mixing together a media player and a web browser, it sounds interesting. According to a rumor from Macrumors.com apple may be planning on doing this. But I don't they will. Itunes and Safari are not the best software as they already stand, so putting them together would seem really bad.

Itunes is already pretty full with your music, apps, movies and the store. In fact, I think a better move would be to put the itunes store online, and have music you download go to itunes. The store would probably be faster and work better on the web.

Safari is one of the worst of the web browsers, with firefox you get awesome extensions and with Chrome you get speed. Considering that Apple does not have a big share of the browser market, they are trying to get itunes users to use Safari.

If Apple could pull it off, by mixing the two together stemless and making them work fast, it could work. But really, how hard is it to click on itunes, change your music and get back to web surfing?

Will either become better or a lot worse!

The Dilemma Review ~ It's a Dilemma this movie is so unfunny

The Dilemma, directed by Ron Howard, is a unfunny, boring comedy. It's a shame to, cause Ron Howard has made some great drama work like Apollo 13 and A Beautiful Mind, both excellent films.

But when he decides to make a comedy, things just fall flat. First off, the plot is something you expect to see on some tv show. Ronny and Nick are best friends who have been though thick and thin. Now they are running their own business together and have a great idea that will put them on the map.

But the craziness goes down when Ronny see's his best friends wife cheating on him. So he tries to sneak around, climb trees, and takes a picture to tell his friend, but is worried what that would do to their friendship.

The movie is a bit Adam Slander style and there is a lot of slapstick, which usually falls flat. The acting is alright for Vice Van and Kevin James, but sometimes you just want Vice to shut up cause at some parts of the movie he rambles on for to long. The plot is uninteresting and you'll be wondering why this dilemma isn't over yet when the movie is halfway though.

You'll be better off dealing with your own Dilemma's then watching this movie.

Macbook Pro 2011

The good old Macbook Pro, the college favorite of film makers and music makers, is in need of a update. According to rumors and so called insider information online, many people are guessing that the Macbook Pro will receive that much needed update in April of 2011.

It has been almost a year since a major update has come to the Macbook Pro, so many are expecting something big, like a new design change. As what that design change brings, no one can say for sure. But you can expect it to look awesome just like everything apple makes.

In hardware, you can expect SSD options or Hard drive. The Hard drive options may go up 750 GB's, or apple may just keep them at the standard 250 and 500 options due to the focus of the online cloud coming in the future.

I know I speak for many users when we all want the new Sandy Bridge processors. The current Macbook Pro still runs on Intel Core duo, which isn't bad, but for being a PRO computer, we expect better.

I expect the displays will stay pretty the same. A few people have guess that apple may put touchscreens for the trackpad, but I highly doubt that will happen.

Other predictions include a SD-card slot, which would be handy for those who store pictures or use SD cards. There are also predictions that Apple may be dropping the Optical Drive on the Macbook Pro. Since the new Mac App store will allow you to download software. This would be a shame as Optical CD's still come in handy and it would be nice to have the option of using it. But if apple did drop this, the battery life would be better, so I guess the sword is double edged.

That's all the buzz about the Macbook Pro for 2011. Hopefully Apple will create one awesome update this April. Are you looking froward to the updates? Post a comment below.

Google Tasks gets revamped for new year

Google today announced that they are bringing many new features to the task's program built into gmail over the following year. Some of the features include repeating tasks, better notifications and alarms, highlighted tasks for overdue events and more.

For those of us that already use tasks to help us with our busy lives, it sounds like its going to get better over the year as these new features are added to the program.

No one makes a To-Do List Like Google

For those of you who don't know, Google Tasks was the first program to go from Labs to Gmail. Do you think any other programs will make the jump this year as well?

Iphone makes it to Verizon, finally

It's about time. If you look back at all the rumors and hope the past 4 years, you would have thought this would have happen sooner. But you know what they say, better late then never. Apples world famous iphone comes to America's favorite network, Verizon, at long last.

It's the same iphone model that AT&T has, but with a few small differences. According to apple, the antenna is in a different spot, fixing the antenna issue. Also, like the Droid X, you can use the iphone to make a wireless hotspot for your computer.

Pretty cool stuff. The Iphone hits the verizon network on February 10th. Will it make a impact on Droid? Maybe, but apple should have made this move a year ago in order to really make a mark on the Droid. I believe that Droid has a pretty good fanbase now. It's going to be fun to see how this all turns out.

Country Strong Review ~ Nothing New here

Was anyone else reminded of Hannah Montana from watching the Country Strong Trailer. It totally looked like Hannah Montana for grown up's, and that is what it kinda turned out to be.

Don't take that to seriously, as while Country Strong is a bit like Hannah Montana, it's not that bad, well, it almost is. If your expecting a great strong screenplay, then you'll already hoping to high. The script is predictable, drags on at some parts and is a little mis jointed together.

The movie follows a fallen Country Singer named Kelly, as she joins forces with Beau, who is a rising young song writer. Together they go on a come back tour along with their manger James and beauty queen diva Chiles.

As you can already guess, tensions arise with romantic pairs and a battle for the spotlight. It's nothing new or anything cool story wise.

The country music is pretty decent, although not being a fan of Country all that well, I wasn't to impressed. It sounds like something you would hear on mainsteam radio, nothing awesome, but good.

Overall, I would suggest you skip Country Strong, unless your a diehard country fan or in the mood for Hannah Montana for grown ups.

Apple going to focus on desktops and laptops this year

When you think about Apple of 2010, what do you remember most? After a year of Apple's main focus on tablets and phones the past year. Some people believe apple is going to be bring some major improvements to its desktop and laptop line this year. Apple has already lunch its Mac Software Store today with its lasted update, allowing users to buy apps and programs just like with Itunes. Now users can just pick which software they want and download it without installing CD's.

It's about time Apple did this, as I am surprised it took them this long. But what else will Apple do this year? It looks like some major updates are planned to come to the Imac and Macbook Pro later this year. If you think about their last updates, Apple just boosted some of the specs when offering nothing ground changing last year. But this year, Apple is rumor to release Light Peak, their new super speedy alternative to USB.

We also know Lion is coming out this summer, does this suggest a touch screen Imac? No one knows. As for the MacBook Pro, people are hoping that Apple will start using new gen processors in them.

Let's hope that Apple brings their computers back up to date and the awesomeness level they where at back in history this year.

Ram-Zet Neutralized Mini Metal Review

For those who like their metal music crazy epic and weird, then Ram-Zet is the perfect Advent Garde metal band for you.

Using a beauty and the beast type of vocals, you have the classical growling black metal type of vocals with the clean and enchanting female vocals. Which makes for a cool experience. The song "I am Dirt" uses this effect to create a great contrast in which it sounds like the female vocals are trying to battle her dark side.

The music changes up a lot, but its always interesting. There are strings used, cool electro noises and classic metal riffs. The lyrical themes deal with being psycho and in a psych ward, which is pretty cool.

If your looking for something different from the normal metal, then be sure to check out Ram-Zet.

MetalMoonSanctuary is coming back

MetalMoonSanctuary is coming back after a short Holiday Hiatus. Expect new posts starting tomorrow. Happy New Year, let's make 2011 kick some serious butt.
