Amazon offers cheaper song pricing on popular songs

Looks like Amazon is trying to get you to buy music on their service. They just announce they will be offering popular songs for only 69 cents, compare to the 1.29 that Apple currently charges for the same song. If your into stuff like Lady Gaga, Justine Briber and Katey, then you may find this useful.

However those into the underground scene and like Apples higher res format will probably be sticking with itunes. It will be interesting to see if this move helps Amazons market share break into apples.

Prom Review ~ Its a little chiched and corny, but its cute

From the makers of High School Musical, Camp Rock and other great hits, Disney finally decided to make a Prom movie. Is it good? Well, that all depends if you liked Prom in high school.

Prom focuses on a bunch of kids who are either excited, or not excited for the upcoming high school prom. In fact, thats what all these kids seem to think about. They are thinking about who is going to ask them out, or how to ask some one out. You would think these kids only think about Prom and nothing else, which of course, no body in real life would be this crazy over Prom.

They put a lot of effort into it to asking each other out, which I don't remember kids from my high school doing that. But that is Disney for you, taking something like Prom and kinda turning it into some fairy tale type of thing.

The pairings, are well, a little chiched to say the least. But thats to be expected as Disney would never go the edgy route. The romance aspect is a little over the top, again due to Disney's "theres love for everyone route" but its not so bad.

What else can I say, its a heart warming, depressing, awkward Prom movie. I was never a fan of Prom, so I wasn't all that into it. But if Prom and watching couples (um, Disney couples) try to figure their way though Prom, then this may be a movie for you.

Fast Five Review ~ Kicking summer off right

How do you kick off the movie summer season? By having a epic car chase action movie thats how! Fast Five, even though it is the 5th movie in the Fast and the Furious series, is probably the best squeal to date.

Sure, is it over the top? Yes, but that is what makes it so much fun. Cars diving off cliffs, pulling a bank vault around, a fight between look a likes Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson, its funny that they take so seriously. But thats part of the fun. Its so over the top, yet still seems to make sense most of the time.

The script is pretty tight for being what it is, there are some cheesy lines, but it all fits in the plot of things. The main reason you go see this film is for the awesome car chases and action. it kinda rivals Sucker Punch on the action level, but Fast Five has a plot which backs it up.

The actors are all cool and play their lines well. But overall, if your looking for a over the top action movie with explosions, hot chicks, guns and that sort of stuff. This is the perfect film for you, and a great way to start off the movie summer season.

New Imacs coming out May 3rd?

Yes, it looks like it finally may be happening, but there is a strong rumor that the new refreshed imacs will be coming out on May 3rd, Tuesday of next week. There is reported storages online, as some people have received emails saying there is a delay of one week. Also, according to some Apple retail employees, they are setting up the stores next week to display the new imacs. The wait may finally be over. If your in the market for a imac, wait till next week!

Apple planning Retina Display Macs

A interesting finding was found in the developers version Mac OS Lion. The background image found on Mac OS lion is a super ultra res of 3200x2000 pixels. Also the icons are super res up,being stored as 1024x1024 instead of 512x512. This is higher then any Mac computer display has ever supported, so it may be pointing out that Apple has plans for retina displays in the future.

Basically, Retina means that everything will stay the same size, but it will pack in twice as many pixels, making images and icons looking sharp and more detailed. Text will be easier to read and it will be a bonus for those that edit photos on their Macs.

When will Apple release Retina displays, I doubt it will be this year or even the next as only the Iphone 4 currently has Retina display. I don't think they are ready to sell a 27 inch retina imac just yet. But I expect we will see Retina come to Ipad next year, and shortly after Macbooks will be getting it.

One thing you gotta love about Apple, they do have nice displays.

Iphone 5 to be redesigned this summer

In recent internet talk, AppleInsider has heard a rumor that Apple may be redesigned the Iphone 5 this summer. The Iphone Redesigned would have a screen that went to the edges of the screen, creating a bit bigger screen space, and a new bigger home button that would have touch swipe features.

Iphone 5 Mock Up
In addition, Apple will be introducing a 126 GB model, which would make those people wanting more space to hold their large itunes Liberians happy.  (Iphone and Itouch storage has been stuck at 64 gig max for some time).

The Iphone 5 will also be a little bit thinner then the iphone 4, and maybe will have a laptop effect where one side is thinner then the other.

Of course, there is always strong word that Apple is not doing a redesign this year. So take these rumors with a grain of slat. For putting in 4G would be a big thing that would get people to buy a Iphone just the way it looks now.  But it would be pretty cool to see the Iphone get another change in its design this year.

Tyler Perry's Medea's Big Happy Family Review ~ What can I say

After making a serious mature film, For Colored Girls, Tyler Perry has decided to return to what he loves most, cross dressing, slapstick, and all the crazy drama that the Madea series is known for.

I find it kinda funny that he has to put his name in the title, as the movie itself isn't a movie where I think you would want to have your name there, but Tyler Perry's a rich man, so I guess it doesn't matter.

Within the first ten minutes of Medea's Big Happy Family, a doctor is groped, Madea is handed a cancer death sentence and Mr. Brown threatens to beat up a women.  If your new to the Madea series, don't be surprised, the first two films where like that to.

Along with other drama, we have a teen who just got out of prison, a family trying to raise two disrespectful chriden. Point is, a lot of drama goes down in this film. Due to this, Medea feels like a episode series on TV at parts, switching from character to character. It kinda works in a way, but other times you kinda are getting into that character but the film switches to another character making you lose interest.

Due to Tyler Perry's stage experience, some parts of the film have that theater feel to them, and be prepared for the characters to be screaming at the top of their lungs for your attention.  Also, the film seems to push the idea that you can use violence to solve your problems, which I don't think really works in real life. But uh, to each their own.

All right, so in the end, I wouldn't recommend this film, unless your already a fan of Tyler Perry's Crossdressing, slapstick violence, or odd insane drama.

Macbook Airs to get released earlier then predicted

This is a interesting rumor I found, but according to Macrumors and Appleinsider, Apple is working on making a new Macbook Air for a release date of June. A bit earlier then previous rumors had thought the air would get updated this year.

The main parts of the update would be Thunderbolt, and intels new Sandy-bridge processors, as the ones in the current Macbook Air are getting a little old. So those hoping for a little more power to come with their Macbook Air will be pleased. You can also expect longer battery life, bigger storage options and all those little goodies to. As for a redesign, expect the Macbook Air to look pretty much the same.

If this is true, then Apple will have a busy summer. As the desktop line and current Macbook are due for some much needed refreshes as well.

Apple Computer Buying Guide 2011

It's pretty easy to predict when Apple updates their computers, based on past update cycles. But this year things have been a little crazy. You had the Sandy Bridge delay recall, and the earthquake in Japan making things even worse. So when should you buy those crazy Apple computers, here is a quick guide to help you out if your planning on making a purchase this summer.

Macbook ~ Its strange, but the Macbook hasn't been updated in quite a while (last May). Its strange because the Macbook is usually been updated pretty often in the past, and its one of Apple's best sellers. The internet has been pretty quiet about this one, but if your in the market for a Macbook, I would hold off. I would expect a update to happen in May or early summer. Is there a redesign? Possible, the last update was a quiet spec update, so it could happen. Apple may be waiting to update the Macbook with a redesign as to not pissed off the people who just got their Macbook pros.

Macbook Pro ~ If looking for a Macbook Pro, you should buy it now unless you can wait till the end of the year. But I'm guessing they will update it in October with a redesign to push for Holiday sales. Cause that is one of Apple's famous moves. So no summer updates here.

Macbook Air ~ I'm guessing that Apple will update the Macbook Air sometime in the late summer/fall time. The Macbook Air was updated last October at the Back to the Mac event. Apple may update the Pros and Airs at the same time with a redesign, or do one before the other. There is not to much word on what the Air will have next, it may just be better specs. A lot of people are expecting the Macbook Pro to go in the direction of the air however with all SDD and no Optical drive. If you can wait a few months, then I would recommand waiting for the new Macbook Air.

Imacs ~ yes, even the Imacs are due for a refresh. It will be interesting to see if they update the Macbook or Imac's first. Maybe people believe that the new Imac's are going to come out within the next two weeks with a basic spec bump like the Macbook Pro had. Others believe that Apple is waiting till the summer to do a redesign with Lion. But if your in the market for a Imac, I would highly recommend you wait. Sandy bridge will be worth it alone with a spec bump. Expect these Imacs to get updated soon, maybe along with some new Macbooks.

Mac Pro ~ You can't forget about Apple's professional machine the Mac Pro. The Mac Pro is due for a update, but recently Apple has been pushing the updates further apart. And I doubt they will update the Mac Pro before the Imac and Macbook. So if your in the market for a Mac Pro, you may be in for a long wait. But word is there will be a new redesign with a slimmer and smaller body, so there is something to keep you dreaming about.

Mac Mini ~ Yes, even the Mac Mini is due for some updates. Its quite weird that Apple's entire desktop line is pretty much due for a refresh, but maybe it will all play out this summer. The mac mini is often the red hair step child of the bunch, but still gets some love. I am expecting that the Mac Mini will just be getting a spec bump this year, with a tunder blot port added. Maybe the Mac Mini will be updated at the same time as the Imac, but once again, if your in the market, wait till the summer.

So, the lesson here is, if your in the market for a Mac Desktop, then you should wait, unless you just need your Apple Computer for checking email or something easy like that. As for the notebook side of things, the Macbook Pro and Macbook Air are pretty safe bets, but those waiting for the Macbook should put their plastic away.

Also remember that these are just predications, as Apple may decide to not update anything at all this year. But I highly doubt they will do that.

Water For Elephants Review ~ Its good, for those romance fans

Water For Elephants, based on the book of the same title, is a romance drama film set in a circus setting. One thing that I did like about Water for Elephants is that its not overloaded with CGI or special effects, but still uses its set and locations to create a cool environment and setting.

Water For Elephants stars Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson, who do fit the romance genre well and work as a couple. So the plot goes like this, Jacob gets a job at the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth caring for the circus animals. It is there, when he meets Marlena, a star of the circus show. But she is already married to August, who is the animal trainer. August is charismatic but also a little crazy at the same time.

And finally, there is Rosie, who is a untrainable elephant. Thoughout the film, Jacob and Marlena bond over taking care for the elephant, and there is drama caused in the mix by August. Overall, its a kinda predictable love story.

The script itself, is pretty good, but nothing mind blowing or anything like that. Overall, Water For Elephants is a pretty decant romance drama, it won't strike you hard, but its entertaining and has its cute moments. Of course, if romance drama isn't your thing, skip Water for Elephants and wait till Fast Five.

African Cats Review ~ No wonder Steve Jobs loves cats

African Cats is the 3rd documentary film made by Disneynature. Following the first film, simply entitled Earth, and the sequel, Oceans, African Cats takes a focus in Africa. Now if you have never seen a DisneyNature film, its a pretty cool documentary.

African Cats is told in a story like way, focusing on three main stories. One of the stories is about a 6 old month cub, trying to grow up to be like his mother. But the mother gets hurt protecting the cub, making things a little harder. Another story focuses on the Cheetah's, and the last story is about a pack of Lions, where the leader of the pack must fight to prove that he is King. Even though all the stories take place in Africa, none of them are connected.

Its a serious documentary, but its told in a child like way by the narrator, Samuel L. Jackson. Yeah thats right. The guy from Snakes on a Plane, is narrating a Disney film.I guess they figured that with all his Snake knowledge he would be a good fit for talking about African Cats. Overall, he does a pretty good job of keeping things interesting.

Another good thing about African Cats is the camera work itself. Expect a lot of shots of cute cubs and kittens to make you go AWWWWW, and as well some epic cat fights for those who like action. Overall, the filming work is well done. You get up close to the cats, all while sitting in a comfy movie seat. The movie moves at a nice pace and always keeps you interested.

Overall, I have nothing bad to say about this film. Its a wildlife documentary done well, so if thats what your looking for, you can't go wrong. Plus you can take the kids.

Also, if you go during opening weekend, you can help make a donation to the African Cats with your ticket! So if you plan on seeing it, go opening weekend.

MetalMoonSanctuary gets a haulover

Hello there,

If you have noticed, we have updated the Metal Moon Sanctuary Blog. I figured it was a time for a little haul-over. Some things may seem a little out of place, but we are working on getting everything into its place, so stick with us. If you have any feedback, be sure to let us know.

Imac Stocks get tight, possible update soon

Current Imac stock is getting tight according to reports around the web. Shipments are slowing down and requests to order more have been met with no reply. What does this mean? That Apple may be phasing out its old Imac models to make room for the news one.

The window that everyone is expecting the new imacs is between the last week of April and the first week of May, so if your in the market, I would wait.  What can we expect? Well if you look at the Macbook pro update that happen earlier this year, the we can expect to see HD webcam, Tunderbolt and Sandy-bridge.

Those hoping for a redesign might want to keep holding their breath for if they come out next week I doubt it will happen. But if they decide to wait to release the imacs after Lion, then maybe?

Iphone drama as release date is unknowable

There has been a lot of buzz about the Iphone 5 release date. Up until now, the iphone has always been updated at Apples Software conference and released in the summer. Sounds pretty easy right. But this year there has been debate over when the iphone 5 releases date.

According to internet buzz, the Iphone will not be at Apples Software conference this year, pointing at a late summer release or fall release. Now, no cycle is set for life, so a minor change could be acceptable. But this has set up rumor and forum sties like crazy. One rumor convicts another, so in the end, no one really knows when Iphone 5 will be out.

Maybe it will come out at WWDC, and nothing has changed. Maybe it will come out in the fall. But in the end, would it really make much difference in your life.

Scream 4 Review ~ Best Scream Yet

I even have to admit that I was worried about this film after the great fail that was My Soul To Take, but Wes Craven has made a great horror comedy with a ending that might blow you away.

Scream 4 plays by the rules of stab movies, as the killer kills all his victims with a knife. Is is the most creative way of killing, no, but its a real weapon and still holds up.

If your a fan of horror movies, then you are going to love all the horror reference's Scream 4 makes. It pokes fun at Saw, has some trivia and hints at some old movies with its kill scenes.

The film also has its comedic moments to when it pokes fun at the horror genre. But also takes itself seriously at the same time.

The actors are all pretty good, and its kinda cool to see Emma Roberts in a horror film like this. Along with Hayden Panettiere (who plays red riding hood in the upcoming WoodHinked movie) and Neve Campbell.

The kill scenes do a pretty good job of building up tension, but the horror factor here isn't as scary as other movies. But it still has a few on the edge seat scenes which will get you. The killers voice is a little comedic in a way, as its kinda scary but laughable at the same time.

Overall, if your a fan of horror and making fun of it, check this one out. You don't have to watch the older screams to understand this one, but it may help if you want to get the full picture. The ending does a great job with its twist.

Wes Craven should stick with directing, cause that is what he seems best at. Or maybe go back to script school.

Final Cut Studio 4 is Now Final Cut X

Last night at NAB in Vas Vegas Apple previewed Final Cut Pro X, the lasted update to their software. So far, the update looks pretty awesome.

Final Cut Pro X has been remade from the ground up, taking a new Gothic look and now being true 64 bit. Meaning you can advantage of all that power in Mac Pro. You want it to, cause Final Cut Pro X renders your effects in the background in real time, allowing you to work without waiting for something to render to preview.

There are some other cool features like auto color matching, face detection, and more. Final Cut Pro X will be released in June and sell for $299. Much cheaper then buying the entire final cut pro suite. The rest of the apps such as Soundtrack Pro and Color where not mention, but it appears that Apple may make a update on those at a later date.

It will be interesting to see how the upgrade feature works in the future, cause if you bought Final Cut Studio 3 in hopes for upgrade to 4, well you may be out of luck. But Final Cut Pro X should be very exciting and we can't wait to get our hands on it.

Today's kids and teenagers are dumber then ever, I blame the parents

Is it just me, or are todays young people doomed for life. I work at a movie theater, and over the past few months I have seen some really stupid teenagers and annoying kids, but more of them then usual. What is going with todays generation?

It seems that a lot of teenagers don't know how to sneak into R rated films. It seems easy enough, go on a slow weekday night, buy tickets for another film and if you act cool, you will have no problem. But today's kids try to buy tickets without their ID's, and then try to sneak in. Setting off red flags and getting caught. And whats with the stupid teenagers that get lost in a hallway, are you really that high?

Whats with this interest in crappy Rap music? Whats with the interest in crappy movies and tv shows? Whats with all the people who can't drive on the road?

Now I am ranting, but compare the 90's with the last decade, and you will see a change. A change not for the better. Our younger generation is rotting, and I blame the parents. Todays parents are mostly lazy, and love to blame their problems on other things.

No one is responsible and takes blame for themselves, nope, it is always pointing hands at someone else. I mean they have the tools to block internet sites and content from kids, but most parents don't give a freak, and blame the content itself. Which really annoys me.

Anyway, what do you think of todays kids, are they smart in your area? Or are they dumber then ever? Discuss.

Your Highness Review ~ Its not as bad as it looks

Your Highness may have bombed at the box office, but I would still recommend to go see if it you have the chance. Your Highness is a pretty good medieval comedy.

Starring Natalie Portman and James Franco, along with some other popular actors, Your Highness has a pretty great cast. The acting was around pretty good and believable.

The comedy has its up and downs, there will be moments where you will be laughing, and then those moments when you wonder who would find this funny. But overall, the film is entertaing and will keep you engaged.

As always, the props and special effects are top notch, which shouldn't be surprising.

The bottom line, if you like midevil adventure and comedy, then you should check out Your Highness.

New Imac's at the end of April~ Redesign possible

If your like me, then you have been waiting madly for the new imacs to come out. Cause right now, the new macbook pros have more power then them. Anyway, the current word is that we can expect the new Imac's to come out at the end of April or early May sometime.

Also, a redesign might be possible. Apple has always given the imac a new design in the same year as a OS release. But who really knows for sure what Apple has up its sleeve. But you can be sure to expect Thunderbolt, Sandy Bridge and a HD cam.

Maybe a Imac might appear in some Easter Baskets this year

Hanna Review ~ A great thriller with a little new twist

Hanna, probably the best film to come out this weekend, is a well made intense thriller. If Sucker Punch has to much action and plot missing for your girl kicks butt needs, Hanna will surely help you out.

Hanna opens up in the cold arctic north, where she is preparing with her farther for combat and how to blend in. The film bends around a unkowen past and unfolds itself throughout the film. Its a pretty good story and has a few good twists around the way.

The film has pretty of chases and a few cool fight scenes, but it also has its down time where Hanna meets a strange family and tries to reunite with her farther. Its a nice mix of pacing for those who aren't looking for non stop action.

All the actors did pretty well, and the camera work is also a nice touch. There a few cool shots in the film.

Oh, and did I mention that the Chemical Brothers do the soundtrack for Hanna. You can expect cool techno beats throughout the film, and it fits pretty well. Think of the Tron Soundtrack, just with a little more edge to it.

Overall, if you want to see a film this weekend, Hanna will be the best use of your money.

Arthur Film Review ~ Stick to the Original

Today I'm reviewing Arthur, no, not King Arthur, or Arthur and the invisibles, or that Arthur cartoon. (Geez, there is a lot of stuff with the name Arthur in it). But the 2011 remake of the 1981 film of the same name. Now, a lot of people don't know that this a remake, but I am telling you now, stick with the original.

Arthur is about a rich man who has been raised like a kid his whole life, but now faces a tough decision when he has to marry a girl he doesn't like in order to keep his fortune.  Things don't get any easier when he does met a middle class he does like, and there fore must try to find a job and get use to being a middle class person.

Who is our lovable rich play boy, why its Russell Brand. I don't know if its just me, but his voice kinda annoys me a little. Trust me, you better get use to it cause you get to hear him talk throughout the whole film.  But I guess he is suppose to be a annoying rich boy though, which he does pretty well.

The jokes in this comedy are your over used slap stick and dull one liners. It does its job of being somewhat entertaining but nothing at all memorable. The Original was pretty well done so I don't know why this remake was needed at all. Oh well, if your looking for some mild humor with rich people that are not really all that funny, oh wait, what I am saying. Just watch the 1981 Arthur if your looking for something good and worth your time.

Final Cut Studio launching next week?

Yes, it may finally be time for Final Cut Studio 4 to arrive and blow our minds. NAB, the national association of broadcasting is a event held in Vegas ever April. This year it begins this Saturday and goes until Tuesday. Canon, Sony and other major camera company introduced their lasted professional cameras at this event, and Apple might use this event as a launching pad for Final Cut Studio 4.

I believe the reason that Final Cut Studio 3 was not at NAB in 2009 was because it was a not a game changing update, and there fore did not need a event. But according to some rumors, Final Cut Studio 4 is quite the game changer. So it will be exciting to see what changes come with the new package.

Expect some Final Cut News to be heard either early in NAB, or on Tuesday, Apples fave day of the week to launch things.
