Cancer Bats ~ Bears Mayors Scrapes and Bones Review

If your a fan of Southern Riffs and punk like music, then Cancer Bats will be right up your alley. Cancer Bat's lasted album, Bears Mayors Scrapes and Bones is their heaviest and most intense.

The vocals do take some getting used to, as its mostly yelling, with some clean vocals here and there. But once your get into it, its awesome. The riffs and vocals  mix together to make a interesting metal mix.

The music is great driving music, as its fast pace with simple riffs. There are also some great headbanging riffs in the album as well. Overall, if you like metal mixed with some punk southern style, then Cancer Bats will be up your alley.

Plus the album art is pretty cool.

In This Moment A Star Crossed Wasteland Review

If your looking for a album that mixes things up, then In This Moment's A Star Crossed Wasteland is your album. It has heavy songs that have some great screams and great riffs like The Gun Show and Blazin. But then it takes things a bit slower with some Piano Ballads with A Star-Crossed Wasteland and World in Flames.

It's a album that makes you want to punch walls, but then tugs at your heartstrings. Its a great album that was made to be listen to in one sitting. It combines clean and yelling vocals, but the female singer can pull off both very well.

If you like Melodic metal that hits hard but then lightens up, then In this Moment is for you. Cause its not all the time we want to yell and scream.

Tron Review ~ The effects are great, the script, not so much

What is up with Hollywood these days and poor scripts. Anyway, you already know that Tron has some really good effects, and overall, the story is not to bad.

If you haven't see the 1982 Tron, then you may want to see it first just to compare the effects. For 1982, the Old Tron effects where quite good, but look hella cheesy today. But it makes for a good laugh.

Basiclly the story is that Sam's Dad gets stuck in the Tron virtual world because a clone he made, Clue, turned agonist him, and thus he got locked inside because the portal out open stills open for so long and can only be open from outside.

So years later, Sam discovers the Tron computer, and accidently teleports himself inside. From here, he must find his Dad, and find a way back out in time. The story doesn't really have any real twists from here. It's your classic movie story that wraps up with a happy ending.

The CGI is all pretty nice and cool, but there are no mind blowing effects. The only effect that really was pretty cool is when he gets teleported into Tron. Sometimes it was hard to tell what was going on because of the camera angel, but otherwise the camera work was good.

Overall, its a pretty entertaing movie, but I expected more. It gets Three Out Of Five Stars

Nintendo 3DS Preorders Have Begun

It appears that Gamestop has allow preorders for the Nintendo 3DS. It will cost 50 big ones to put down your name on a 3DS (which counts towards the purchase) but for those wanting to get one on the first day it comes out, this may be your best bet.

If your not the type of person who enjoys going out into the world, then you can still wait for Amazon to begin its orders for the Nintendo 3DS.

Must see movies of early 2011

While this year may have been a little disappointing for huge movie blockbuster's, 2011 is looking to be a good year. Here is a look of some of the movies that should be on your must see list.

January 7th ~ Season of the Witch
Nick Cage makes a return to the big screen in Season of the Witch. The movie takes place during the medieval era, where Nikolas Cage is assigned to transport a witch. But will the witch be able to convince him that she is good?

This movie looks pretty interesting, and looks pretty epic. Hopefully Season of the Witch lives up to its hype. Plus its Nickolaus Cage, how can you go wrong?

January 14th ~ The Green Hornet
Seth Rogen appears in this comic book film, where a average guy gets a bunch of money, and decides to use those funds to become the Green Hornet and stop crime. It kinda falls into the Iron Man or Batman era. But its more in the form of a comedy. They get a cool rocking car, guns and even a gun that shoots knock out gas.

Hopefully Seth Rogen will do justice to the Green Hornet character.

January 28th ~ The Rite
Sure, the exorcism genre is somewhat overdone, but hopefully the Rite will liven up the genre a bit after the disappointing The Last Exorcism. The movie is about an America Priest who travels to a exorcism school to study. But he soon finds that exorcism's are a bit more tricky then meets the eye.

February 4th ~ The Roomate
What seems to be the first horror movie of the year, the roommate looks to be a interesting horror triller. The film is about Sara, who goes to college and gets a roommate who at first appears to be very nice. But as the film goes on, something very wrong seems to be going down, and Sarah appears to be in danger.

For those who like horror movies, this will be a must see.

Sanctum ~
James is coming back with another film after Avatar. But will it be as good, maybe. Sanctum looks like its trying to copy the descent, just without the monsters. If it the Sanctum has a solid script and good acting, it may be worth seeing, but otherwise, it doesn't look to be James best work.

February 18th ~ Unknown
For those who like a little drama and suspense, the Unknown will be your film. The Unknown is about a doctor who gets in a car accident, but when he wakes up, he finds out that he has been replaced by someone that looks like him.

February 25th ~ Drive Angry
Nicholas Cage appears in another film not to far off from Season of the Witch. This time, in Drive Angry, Nicolas Cage escapes from Hell to get ravage on the men who killed his daughter. But as he is hunting them down, the devil is hot on his tail. This movie looks to be full of crazy action and insane laughs. The devil and Nick Cage, you can't go wrong.

March 4th ~ Rango
For those who like weird animated movies, then Rango will fill your gut. The movie is about a lizard that wonders into a Western town when he is being chased by a bird. When he is there, he gets named the protector of the town, and has to battle a big cobra. If your a fan of westerns, or animated movies, then Rango will be right up your alley.

March 25th ~ Sucker Punch
For those who like comic book movies that have hot girls, action, and awesome special effects, then Sucker Punch will be for you. It looks really awesome from the trailer. If there is one movie you gotta see this 2011, then Sucker Punch is looking to be one of them. I'll let the trailer show you the awesomeness.

Well, its looking like 2011 is going to have some must see movies right off the bat. Are there any movies you are super excited to see?

True Grit Review ~ A classic remade well

If your a fan of the old movie or new to True Grit, it will be your serious movie this holiday season. True Grit has great acting, camera work and a pretty good script to boot.

The story begins when Mattie dad is killed by a crazy Tom Chaney. 14 year old Mattie wants ravage on Tom and wants him to be charged with what he has done. But since Time Chaney is out in the Indian County, no one else really cares or takes her seriously.

So Mattie finds Cogburn, a old out bond sheriff to help her out. The start of the film has a few out drawn scenes and starts out a bit slow. But once Mattie and Cogburn hit the road, the film gets interesting. They run into Texas ranger La Boeuf who travels with them a bit, a creepy old body that is hanging from the trees and even a run in with some snakes.

The end of the film is when things get really interesting, and is the best part of the film. But I won't spoil anything. Overall, if your in the mood for a movie that takes itself serious in a classic western setting, then True Grit is your film.

Overall, I give it 4 our of 5!

Got a Chrome OS beta Laptop

While Google won't officially launch it's Chrome OS laptops till 2011, those who sign up for the beta test program got a chance for a free Chrome OS beta Laptop. And I appear to be one of the lucky ones.

The laptop is pretty bare, you have a keyboard, a trackpad, power suppy, USB plug and sound plug, and that's about it. Chrome OS is built for surfing the web, and that is basically the OS, a web browser. There are no folder's, no other program's, just Chrome, you and the web.

At first you made laugh at the idea, but if you think about it, having a laptop for just web surfing is a pretty good idea. You get a really fast boot up time, longer battery life and you don't have to worry about all that file stuff. Plus the laptop is small and more useful for travel.

I will do some more blogging when I get some more time with the Chrome OS. But if you like Chrome already, then your going to love this.

Here;s what the beta laptops look like

Nintendo 3DS may look the same, but it packs power

The Nintendo 3DS may look almost the same as the current Nintnedo DS Lite, but the processor inside packs a punch. Tony Marinello, a game programmer currently working on Madden said

"“It’s a pretty powerful handheld. The graphical processing unit on it is really sweet. You’ll notice we’ve got some rim lighting effects, for example, and environment maps on the helmets. Plus we’re using a lot of the assets from the ‘next-gen’ versions of the game.”

Also, the Nintendo 3DS cards can hold up to 8 GB's of space. Wind waker was about 1.2, so it you think about it, you could put a pretty big game onto the Nintendo 3DS. More then a normal DVD can hold. That's pretty impressive.

Expect some pretty awesome graphics from the 3DS

Black Swan Review ~ A dark horror like movie that will make you glad you don't dance

You haven't seen Swan Lake told like this before. If your a fan of movies that are a little bit odd and make you think, then you'll enjoy this. Black Swan is about Nina, and her quest to get the role as the Swan Queen.

Expect in this play, there is the white swan, and the black swan. Nina has no problem playing the white swan, but must learn how to play the black swan. As the film progress's Nina begins to let into her dark side, and it all makes for quite a epic ending.

The film plays out like a psychological thriller, and at times it feels a little horror movieish. Not that it is, but it borrows influence from the genre. The soundtrack is mostly music from Swan Lake, and it's use very well within the movie.

The overall plot sometimes gets a little dark, but that is what makes it great. You never really know which turn the movie is going to take next. There are a lot of mirror shots and some shakey camera moves as it spins around them dancing, but the camera work is very well done.

Overall, if your looking for a dark take on ballet dancing, you have to check out the black swan. Plus, it will make you glad you don't ballet dance.

Critics bash Holiday Movies, Great Effects, Lame Scripts

It seems that Tron, Yogi Bear and How do you know all got bashed by critics. Tron and Yogi Bear have great effects and production, but lack in their character development and script. While How do you know has some great acting talent, they can't keep the script alive as well.

What is it with bad screen-writing these days anyhow. It isn't that hard, well, if you choose a old 7 minute cartoon like Yogi Bear to write about, then you kinda are screwed. But with movies like Tron and How do you know, I really expected better. But if your looking for great special effects instead of plot, then these movies should fill your gut. Otherwise, I might have to stick with Black Swan this weekend for my good plot hunger

Its ok, someday the plots will be great again

Nintendo 3DS Press Conference to be held Jan 19th?

According to mynintendonews.com, Nintendo has made a official accoutrement that saids

"Please mark your calendar for January 19th 2011 and plan to attend an exclusive Nintendo event in Amsterdam. The event begins at 3 p.m. CET and will continue into the evening. More details will be coming soon, so be on the lookout!"

Although the accoutrement does not mention the Nintnedo 3DS, its pretty unlikely they will be talking about something else. But who knows, maybe Nintendo will pull a Apple and talk about Wii2. For us American's, its pretty unlikely that we'll be able to attend the event, but hopefully someone can cover it via live blogging.

For those Europe people, you might want to see if you can sneak in.

Unsun The End of Life Mini Metal Review

For those who like clean vocal's power with guitars, then you will like UnSun. Unsun is a bit of a mix between Gothic, Symphonic and Alternative metal. Depending on the song.

The band was founded by a ex guitar player Maurycy Stefanowicz of the death metal band Vader. Thus some of the music sounds a little bit familial to their work.

The vocals on this album are sometimes kinda pop like, but I think it makes a good blend with the guitars for some interesting metal. Some of the songs are fast and pretty heavy, then their are the slower songs which are more towards the alternative style. But when you listen to it all together, it makes for a pretty epic album.

The song "Face the Truth" is a slow song, but has a really cool epic part in the middle.

Why isn't there more Female Metal?

For those metal fans out there, you know how hard it is to find a metal band with female fronted vocal's. It seems that girls didn't want to jump on board when metal was rising though the 80's and 90's. But now as we roll into another decade, a few females have joined the metal revolution. But my question is why are there not more?

If you went back in time and ask for female fronted metal bands, people would think you where insane. But now in 2010, the decade of shaking things up, you think it would have catch on faster. Out of all the metal bands out there, about 2% of them is lead by a female singer. Now that is pretty small compare to Pop, Country, and Alternative female singer ratios.

Kittie, the only well knowen all female metal band
You'll find most female metal in the power symphonic metal genre. Most often Opera style is used.  But groups like Kittie, have shown that female vocals can make a good fit for heavy metal. Lucuna Coil uses female vocals in a Alternative metal style. I like the bands that use a mix of clean vocals and screams together. When done right, it can create a pretty awesome song. I would really like to see Female vocals in other less done genres like Thrash, Groove and Hair style.

Maybe girls avoid the metal genre because its to dark and scary. But I think metal is just another art form that any person can enjoy. There are quite a bit of female fans of metal, but the group is quite small when compared to the male fans. More people (females) should look into starting a metal band, it may not be the best paying gig in the world. But hey, you'll have a loyal fan base if your good (including me) and have a good time screaming.

If you think about the guys that do Pop like music, then there are no excuses. Besides, you'll be surprised by how well female vocals and heavy guitars sound together.

Holiday Movie Season a Bust?

It's the Holiday time for the movies, and with winter break coming up, people love to see a good flick But are their good flicks to see, or is the Holiday movie season going to be a bust for most people? Let's take a look at what's coming up.

Tron ~ The remake of the popular 80's movie comes back with a full power Disney 3D remake. This will be the biggest movie this Holiday Season. I think CGI and 3D where made for Tron, and judging from the trailers, the movie looks like its going to be one wild ride. But those Tron costumes rock!

Yogi Bear ~ Oh no, Hollywood is messing up one of my childhood memoirs. This movie just looks bad, like, real bad. I don't even know what the plot is, besides Yogi and his partner Bamboo stealing panic baskets. You can expect bad jokes and bad plot with this one. Do kids even know who Yogi Bear is?
The way we should have remembered them
Gulliver's Travels ~ Jack Black is back in a new live action movie, which looks ok by first glance.Gulliver's Travels takes the old classic tale and brings it to the modern age. Some parts look cool and others just look kinda lame. Gulliver's Travels looks to be your average type of film, nothing special. Although Jack Black always seems to pull off a pretty good role and is pretty funny.
True Grit: Now this looks awesome. You can't go wrong with Western's, and from the trailer this looks like its going to be awesome. Funny thing is that this movie is also a remake of a classic. (Like Tron) But you have a great cast, and the plot looks interesting. If your a fan of cowboys and western settings, then this one should be in your list. True Grit should promise a lot more awesome western action then the Warriors Way did.

Little Fockers: I wonder how many parent's complained about Little Fockers title, as it is really close to the f word. Anyway, this will be your mindless comedy movie for those who like comedies, that are often not to funny. Let's just hope Little Fockers didn't pull out all its best moments for its trailer.

Well, those are the big holiday movies. Looks like the two must see Holiday flicks will be Tron and True Girt, the remakes. The rest looks ok, but nothing to mind blowing.

Happy Holiday Viewing

Nintendo 3DS rumored to launch March 27th

According to some other blog sites, the Nintendo 3DS is rumored to launch the last weekend in March, on Sunday the 27th. Sunday has always been Nintendo's day for launching their new consoles. These rumors come from those computer screens that list product release dates, but those can't always trusted. But it seems like it falls in plan though. I would expect the Nintendo 3DS to launch on the 27th or around there.

This show's a Nintendo 3DS game being released on the 15th, but its highy bogus

Nintendo 3DS to be priced around $300

Some interesting news today, in Europe the French Amazon has listed the Nintendo 3DS at around 250 Euros, which is around $330 American dollars.Check it out. That price conversion won't be how much it is american though.

No word on the America Amazon, but we'll keep our eyes on it. But now would be a good time to start saving that Christmas money you'll be getting. Rumors suggest the Nintendo 3DS is going to be between $300 and $350.

Korzus ~ Discipline of Hate Mini Metal Review

Korzus is one the bands that started the craze of Brazillain Thrash Metal scene back in the late 80's and early 90's. Finding some their older albums is a bit of hard work, but you can find their newest album on itunes or amazon.

Point is, if your like Thrash Metal, then you will like Korzus. In Discipline of Hate, the album is fulled with great guitar work and solos. Even some of the vocals are interesting, like when they sing the main verse in "Truth" or sing "Raise your Soul".

So be sure to check out this album if you like Brazillain metal or just fast heavy metal.

Is Christmas Evil?

As the Holidays are coming up, I wonder to myself if Christmas was a good thing or evil? It does bring families together, but it seem's to a lot more harm then good.

First off, the advertising is horrible at this time of the year. I hate all those stupid car ads, like who buys a car for someone at Christmas. Unless your rolling in dough, that just doesn't happen.

Plus, poor families are blasted by this stuff. Their kids see all these ad's with families and tons of gifts and expensive things. So what do the Mom and Dad do, they either buy gifts and starve to make their child happy, or disappoint them. I don't know about you, that is downright sad.

Corporate and company's love this type of year, cause they can use it to make you feel like you have to buy more stuff then you already need. Think about it, you are living just fine today, do you really need 2000 dollars of stuff just to make you happy. You could use some of that money to donate to someone or help a cause. But corporate wants their big fat rises, and thanks to them, they help turned Christmas evil.

Christmas Devilry?
And what is up with the fact that we are celebrating some friction characters birthday? You think we would have moved on from that as a nation. I mean, its ok for some people to do religion holidays, but for those who don't believe in it, but celebrate the holiday anyway, should be ashamed of them-selfs.

Why does Christmas over shadow Thanksgiving? Thanksgiving is a real nation day where America was discovered. Shouldn't that get more importance over some fake made up beliefs?

What do you think? Does Christmas do more good? Or more Evil?

Another Horror Nintendo 3DS game announced!

Shinigami Oni is a newly announced horror adventure game made by Digital Works Entertainment. In Shinigami Oni, your goal is to wonder around a complex city where you must find the God Of Death. It sounds like a cool story, unlike your typical zombie or vampire experience. Other then that, not to many details about Shinigami Oni have been released. Let's that it gets a US release.

Judging from early reactions, Shinigami Oni seems to offer a different type of horror experience.

Final Cut Studio 4 Predictions

For those of you who know about Final Cut and who edit video, then you know how awesome Apple's Pro editing software can be. But there has been much worried panic and rumors spreading about the future of Final Cut Studio 4. Some believe that Apple is going to be dropping Final Cut Studio, or dumbing it down to a more friendly consumer base level. But I don't think Apple is going to give Final Cut, the uh, Final Cut just yet. Here's why.

Final Cut Studio 2 was mind blowing, but can 4 bring the awesome?
Apple has to many Pro users: If apple kills all of their pro software, then who is going to buy their MacPro and Macbook pro machines? Since they are still supporting and updating their High end computer's, it wouldn't make to much sense for Apple to kill Final Cut, which is one of the big reasons why many people buy a MacPro.

Steve Jobs has hinted at something: For sure, Steve Jobs reply to a email saying that a new update was coming. But the question is, what kind of update? Will it be the high end professional editing that we expect, or some lame imovie gimmick. If Steve Job's still has some sense in him, it should be the high end professional editing that we expect.

Release Date: I pinpoint the release of Final Cut Studio 4 to happen sometime within the first half of the year. According to some, it will come out early 2011, but I wouldn't hold my breath. But I think we will at least hear something before April, or by at least the end of the summer.

Features: We all know that Apple is falling behind Adobe and Avid, so Final Cut Studio 4 is going to have to pay catch up. I think the most important thing that will be improved on is Speed, and perhaps a new interface. At least one of the two should arrive with Final Cut Studio 4.

Hopefully next year will be a better year for Apple Pro user's. Here's to wishing that Final Cut, gets many more upgrades in the future.

The Tourist Review ~ Depp and Angelina try, but the script doesn't hold out

Isn't it great to see a movie with Johnny Depp with no make up on his face. (Like in his many last films with Tim Burton) The Tourist tries to draw you in with its star power, who doesn't know Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. They both are able to pull off pretty good acting in this film. But while The Tourist does have star powers, it sinks a little bit with it's plot.

The movie begins with people watching Angelina Jolie's every move, when she receives a note that instructs her to board a train and find a man.

The note is from Angelina's wanted boyfriend, and he wants her to find someone to distract everyone off his trail. This is where Johnny Depp comes into play, and from there come misunderstandings and Johnny Depp being hunted by a mafia.

Angelina has a heart and didn't think her boyfriend would let it go as far as it did, so she decides to help him. From here begins a confusing relationship which I didn't really fell the chemistry. Johnny Depp (or Frank as his character is called) fells in love pretty fast. In fact, I don't even know if the two characters in the film have much in common.

Aside from this "Love at First site" flaw, there are also some plot holes in the story itself. I don't want to spoil the ending, but something happens that is never explained. And Johnny Depp likes to appear and find places he wants to go very easily.

The plot also has a bit of a slow start. But besides that, there are a few good chase scene's and the ending did keep you in suspense. The cinematographic was done well, and the music is your average film score. Overall, if you don't mind the plot holes, the rushed relationship, or a slow start, then you might be able to enjoy Depp and Angelina's performance together.

***** Stars out of Five.

Warning Depp Fans, there are a few scenes where Depp is adorable.

Warning Angelina Fans, there are a few scenes where she does look hot. Her hair is always pretty much perfect.

5 Reasons why Google Is better then MobileMe!

It's the battle of the syncing software, with Apple facing off with Google to win over how you sync your online life. Should you shell out 100 bucks to use Apple's mobileme, or go with Google's services? In my experience, here are 5 reasons why Google blows MobileMe out of the water.

1. Google Is Free ~ If your not made of money, this a clear winner here. Plus you get almost all of the features of MobileMe. Contact syncing, email, calendar and photo sharing.  Of course, there is limited space for picture uploading, but buying space from google is cheap. 5 bucks a year for 20 GB, now that is a steal.

2. Google has more features ~ Google is often updating their email and other services more often then apple. You have priority inbox, google labs and lots more options then apple mail offers. Plus your getting all these features for free for no extra cost. Can you chat within Apple mail, have different themes or get online voice mail. Nope

3. Google plays nice with Apple ~ Even if you have a iphone, a imac and a ipad. You can still use all the greatness of Google on your apple devices. However, Apple does not play to nice the other way around if your stuck with a PC or linux.

4. Google is more reliable ~ According to user reports, google services are almost always online. Sure they are downtimes, but there are rare and often short. However, user report more issues with MobileMe, with problems with syncing or the speed of the service. If your like me, I would expect MobileMe to run flawless 99.9% of the time if your shelling out that much money for it.

5. Google has update blogs ~ You can see the progress that google is making with its services, but with Apple, your in the dark. No one saw that the Find my Iphone service would become free, which ticked off a lot of mobileme users who where paying for the service. MobileMe rarely receives updates.

As you can see, Google offers the better user experience.

Get MobileMe for free just by using Google and Dropbox

Nintendo 3DS information to flood in late January?

If you have noticed, there is not to much information that you can find on the Nintendo 3DS at the moment. According to rumors, Nintendo is telling all of its developers to keep their projects under wrap for now until early January. (a few weeks before the Japanese launch)

This is probably to keep the focus off the Nintendo 3DS and let people buy the current offerings Nintendo has on sell for the Holiday season. Which makes sense from a business stand point.

Chris and Jill have to kill some zombies before they can tell us about their adventure.

Nintendo 3DS Preorders coming soon!

IMPORTANT: Nintendo 3DS presorders are rumored to be coming out on the 26th, the day after Christmas. Amazon has started a mailing list where you can sign up to be alerted to when Amazon Preorders begin. If you would like to be on that list, click here to go to amazon and sign up.

Gamestop is also rumored to start selling Preorders on the 26th. You will have to put some money down on it in order to preorder the 3DS, somewhere between $10 and $50 dollars. The exact amount will not be known until they official announce the preorders.

If you are interested in getting a Nintendo 3DS, I really recommend preordering yourself a copy early. Amazon will ship them out, so if you want to do the overnight thing, you might have to go with gamestop.

Apple trying to destroy hardcore quality fanbases?

As much as I hate to admit, but Apple is trying to get of hardcore quality fanbases by getting them to switch to their products, which are just good enough for the masses. What do I mean by hardcore fanbases, well let me explain.

Movies: Apple does not currently support Blu-Ray and only offer's movies in 720P instead of 1080P on the itunes store. Also, most movies on the itunes store do not include any bonus features which you would find on a blu ray disc. So basically, Apple is offering you the cheap way to download movies. 720P is still pretty good, but apple does not even give you the option for the higher quality. But since most people prefer the convince of downloading it, they will go with Apple's way, and miss out.

Videogames: According to recent statics, many hardcore gamers are moving from the Nintendo handhelds to iphone and ipad touches for their gaming delight. The iphone and ipad can provide some nice gaming, but its not as feature rich as the Nintendo DS. Plus some of the games don't seem to be built that well either. But people will pay because its cheaper and their iphone is always with them.

Why would you want to use a ipad as your main game machine?
Music: Apple tried to lunch their new service Itunes IP, which was a cool add on to music albums, but it hasn't really taken off. If you still want the best music experience, your not going to find it on itunes. But why do so many people download music, cause its easy. 82% of America is lazy, and would rather download a album then go up to buy the CD. Itunes music has gotten better, but it still is top by CD's. It would be nice if they offered higher quality as a option to buy.
The CD ani't dead, yet
Computers: Have you noticed that apple computers are not that high tech anymore. Not only are they missing Blu-ray and USB 3.0, they seem to lack that awesome punch they had back in the day. Back then, Apple was pushing ground breaking technology, but now they are just trying to keep up with everything. PC's have the better quality in features, the only reason why Apple Computers don't break down as much is because they use old technology which has pretty much been perfected. Even the ipad fails in its feature list, but people today just don't want to cutting edge.

Ipad, it could be so much better
I don't know about you, but I'm getting sick of Apple cutting concers just to make a quick profit. For how much money you spurge on one of their machines, you should be getting some high quality, you know?

Steve Job's promise MobileMe will get better, but will it?

Oh MobileMe, what a joke you have been. For those of  you who don't know, MobileMe is Apple's email, contacts. and calendar syncing service. Which sounds good, if you got 100 dollars to burn to each year. For the average user, that is way to expensive! Plus, Google offers email, contact and calendar sync, all for FREE. According to users, the google accounts are a little bit more reliable and have less issues then mobileme. Sounds weird huh, shouldn't it be the other way around?

MobileMe, Bad Name, Worse Logo
So why should someone pay for mobile me when you can go somewhere else like google? Well, there is that Idisk thingy which lets you share files between computers right? Well, DropBox beats you there to, and 2GB of file sharing is free. Plus DropBox is a more reliable service and has more features. So mobile me strikes out again.

The only feature that was worth your while was the Find My Iphone, but now, that is free. So a big part of the mobileme packege is free.

The last thing I will comment on is Iweb, which Apple gave you a free web address to make a website with. Which I have to admit is pretty cool. But guess what, iweb wasn't updated in the last Ilife upgrade. So you'll be using a outdated service. And once again, compared with services like Web's and Wix, why pay 100 dollars for this?

Iweb, are you dead?
So as you can see, MobileMe is pretty much a complete rip off while you can use Gmail, DropBox and a web creating service, all for free. Steve Job's responded to a email not to long ago saying that MobileMe will get better in 2011.

But what does that mean? Are you talking about new features or just making it run faster. I mean come on, what else was he going to say? As a salesman, he is not going to tell people that it is going to stay the same.

But MobileMe, is either going to have to drop its expensive price tag, or add some real kicking features if it wants to complete with the rest of the web. It's sad that apple is behind this failure, because of their attention to detail and drive for new technology, I really hoped that MobileMe would not be a ripoff.

The Warrior's Way Review ~ It tries, but just doesn't reach its potential

When I got out of this movie, I really didn't know what to think of it. Some parts I liked, and others where just disappointing. It's a weird blend of East meets West.

On one end, you get a epic battle scene at the end of the movie, but before that, there is barely any action. Which might make the movie seem slow from those expecting more action.

Speaking of the battle scene's, they are pretty visually cool, if like flying ninja's, cloud puffs of blood, colliding bodies and sword fighting. It's over the top violence fun, and there are a lot of dead bodies everywhere in a few scenes. While these scenes are fun, we have seen this type of fighting done better and more epic in other films.

But when there isn't a battle scene, your left with the film's odd plot. Basically, Yang decides to give up his Warrior way of life after refusing to kill a young child. By refusing his mission, his own clan has turned on him, so Yang heads to a old western cirrus town to seek cover.

There, he discovers the joy of building friend ships, growing flowers and living the simple life. Along the way, he meets a girl called Lynne, who has a tragic past, and builds a relationship with her.

Now you better like this western circus town, cause 90% of the film takes place here. Which isn't quite a bad thing, but I was hopeing the film would change location a little more often. The plot is pretty clichéd and predictable, but what else would you expect from the lame title. Plus there is narrator which has to explain the whole beginning of the story for you.

The visual scenes are nice, there are a lot of pretty sunsets and cool camera shots, but it doesn't quite make up for the rest of the film. If your expecting something mind blowing, this isn't it, but if your looking for some weird circus characters, the joys of watching slow build up's and epic climax battles, then you will be entertained.

I give it *** out of *****

(There is a part with a gravestone that saids "Died at age One" in the movie which I laughed at, just because it was a pretty big gravestone for a baby)

Nintendo 3DS ~ Peeking at upcoming games

The Nintendo 3DS is already building our excitement up for the new year. Not only is it bring 3D graphics,its bring 3D graphics to some of our favorite titles. Harvest Moon, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Ninja Gaiden, Super Monkey Ball and more are sure to come.

Today, we're going to take a loot at the featured games that Nintendo has on their website for the 3DS.

Kid Icarus: Uprising ~ If there is one game that stole the Nintendo 3DS show at E3, it was this title. Not only bringing back a series long forgotten in time, it will also be one of the first games to push the 3D limits. Kid Lcarus is being created by Project Sora, which is a fairly new game developer, but has helped out on the Super Smash Bros series.

Kid Icarus Uprising features both air ground fighting as well as air born gameplay. Think of Star Fox Assault, but better. Nintendo has described the game as “a fast-paced and action-packed blend of aerial and ground-based shooting built on elegantly intuitive and streamlined play control. Boasting game play that is easy to pick up but incredibly deep, the game is sure to satisfy novice gamers as well as fans who have been clamoring for a new installment in the franchise.” Kid Icarus looks like to be a great platformer as well as a shooting game.

It will be great to see Icarus battle it with Medusa and other baddies when it hits the Nintendo 3DS early in its life time.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 3D ~ For those play-stations fans, this one should please. Athough this is a reboot of a PS2 game, producer Hideo Kojima said that he would developed some new stuff for the Nintendo DS3 version. The details on what content would be added are still unkowen.

Hideo also stated that the demo showen at E3 was just a sample of what could be done, and not a representative of the final product. So the game is clearly just not a direct port. It will be interesting to see what contend makes it into the final cut. For those of you who haven't had a chance to play this game, you'll be in for a cinematic videogame  treat that you soon won't forget.

Nintendogs + Cats ~ This game will be a sequel to the old Nintendo DS Nintendogs. Not only will it include cats, for those cat lovers out there, but the game will make use of the Nintendo 3DS's cameras for facial recognition technology to interact with the pets. For example, if you put your face up close, the dog may do the same. Or if some else steals your 3DS and tries to play with your dog, your dog may run away.

But other then the 3D tech as well, I think we can expect the same. This is the type of game for those pet lovers and people who have time to waste or just for those who parent's don't like real pets.

Can you say AWWWWWW
Animal Crossing: Not to much to say about this one, but it will be updated version where you play the mayor of the town. As the mayor you got to make sure your town is happy, because what else are you going to do?

A lot of people at E3 have talked about the 3D effects on this one, saying that it adding a cool depth effect when playing. It will be interesting to see all the new features they input into this one.

And that pretty much wraps up this preview. I talked about Resident Evil Revelations in a other blog post, so I won't talk about that. And all the other titles on the plate are still pretty early in the dev department and don't have to many details out about them.

But the Nintnedo 3DS's library is looking to be shaping up to be a great one.
